This short safari is ideal for a weekend/short holidays. The safari takes you to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru National Park is flamingo land. It is home to a huge number of lesser flamingos. At any given time, every flamingo in the world seems to be at this beautiful shallow alkaline lake, just south of Nakuru town. Lake Naivasha which is a fresh water lake. Apart from these flamingos and over 400 species of birds, there are approximately 400 other species of birds visiting these lakes. Nairobi to Lake Nakuru N Park

Lake Nakuru

Our journey to Lake Nakuru will cut across the Great Rift Valley, with Mt Longonot in the background. You will also see the enchanting Lake Naivasha, the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you will set out for an afternoon game-viewing drive. The park is renowned to be a bird watchers’ paradise due to the numerous populations of birds, the most famous being the thousands of flamingos.

You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and depart with an en-route game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park as you drive to Naivasha. You will arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. You will spend the afternoon leisurely on your own. You can also take an optional boat ride at Lake Naivasha. You will go for an evening walk around the lake and then return for dinner and an overnight stay at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
