Arrive to entebbe Airport

Arrive in Entebbe in the morning (or the day before). Meet and greet on arrival at the airport and take an early lunch at hotel Africana, after your lunch, you will choose either to remain at the hotel and relaxe as you wait for the next days safari to Lake Mburo NP where our trip will start from or to go some night tours around the city.

We then drive to Lake Mburo National Park on sealed roads passing through papyrus swamps close to Lake Victoria and tracts of tropical rain forest and the rolling plains of Ankole cattle country. Lake Mburo National Park is a small park, excellent for birding, antelope and other grazers, one of the only places to easily see Impala and zebra in Uganda. Game drives offer particularly picturesque game viewing with the Parkʹs mixture of savannah, acacia woodlands, grassy valleys, rocky outcrops.

Queen Elizabeth National Park located approximately 393Km (6 hours and 40 minutes’ drive) from Entebbe International Airport to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with size of 1,978km², the park spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road mark the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00. A home to over 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species, the Park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park, and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II.

Take a cup of coffee in the morning just to warm up abit from the cold then head on for the game drive that will take place along the kasenyi tracks as you search for the wild animals. While on the drive you will see animals such as the lions, Cape Buffalos, Elephants, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Spotted hyenas, Mangoose, kobs among others. Back to lodge to take your actual delicious breakfast meal as you relax around and enjoy the silent environment.

Transfer to Bwindi Forest NP

You will wake up early morning as usual to a sumptuous breakfast at your lodge. Our guide will take you to Maramagambo forest which is home to chimpanzees and cave bats. While in the dense forest, look out for birds, forest hogs, dwarf antelope and several other primate/monkey species. The bats attract pythons to their caves and if you are lucky, you could spot a battle between predator and prey. Chimpanzee trekking is not open in Maramagambo because they are not habituated.

You will wake up very early to take your breakfast before heading out to the park offices for briefing at 7:00 am. During the briefing, the park Rangers/Guides will share information about the requirements and rules for gorilla trekking. The meeting is compulsory and it is also at this time that you get to be assigned a gorilla family and porters. How are gorilla groups allocated? Gorilla groups are allocated taking into account your overall fitness.

This will be another experience because you will have the all day moving from Kabale to Jinja, you will have different activities as we move to the source of the Nile. You will Jinja by evening at around 04:00PM, You will be driven to the hotel for relaxation after a long trip. You will choose either to be at the hotel and relaxe or to have an evening tour of Jinja city.

Jinja is approximately 54 miles (87 km) located in southeastern Uganda. It was previously the industrial capital of Uganda. It has Owen Falls Dam, located just downstream from the Source of the Nile and the Nile starts its 4000-mile journey to the Mediterranean from Lake Victoria. Jinja is best known for the Source of the River Nile at the now submerged Rippon Falls. Provides hydro-electric power for Uganda and parts of Kenya. Jinja is considered the capital of the Kingdom of Busoga.

Drive to Entebbe for your flight

This morning we will drive back to Entebbe, this takes approximately 2:30mins. If time permits it is possible to stop in Kampala for shopping and lunch and a visit to the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers. You are then transferred to Entebbe to connect with your departure flight. Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a member from Goldrock Safaris-Africa who will drive you to Arusha Airport for a transfer to Serengeti national Park.
