Rwanda as a country has only 3 national parks which are, Volcanoes national park that is located in the Northern Province at the Uganda-Rwanda –Congo border. This park is famously known for being a home to the rare mountain gorillas. The park has other attractions such as Golden monkeys, Musanze cave, Karisimbi mountain, Twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, Dian Fossy tombs, to mention but a few. The second national park is called Akagera national park which is located in the Eastern province with attractions such as wildlife game of Rhinos, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Zebras, Leopards, Lions, Impalas, Water bucks and several bird species. The last national park is called Nyungwe national park which is located in the Southern province and is famously known of inhabiting Chimpanzees. Nyungwe has other attractions such as Colobus monkeys, Isumo water falls, Bird species and Tea plantation. Outside national parks, Rwanda has attractions such as Kigali city, Kigali genocide memorial Centre, Lake Kivu, Inema art gallery, Presidential museum and the Nyamirambo women Centre. All that mentioned, our tour is going to cover only Kigali genocide museum and Volcanoes national park.

Transfer to Volcanoes

On your arrival at Kigali airport, you will be picked by our professional guide and you will start on your journey. You will travel to Kigali genocide memorial Centre which is located on the out skirts of the city Centre. This memorial museum will help you to understand the cause, tragedy and successful rebuilding post genocide. From here, you will continue your journey up to Volcanoes national park. You will check in at Bishops house hotel.

You will begin your day with an early breakfast and be ready to head to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. You will then head into the park for a unique opportunity of discovering the 10 families of gorillas that live with in this park After having a face to face with these rare creatures, you will return to your hotel for you lunch and get ready to go for Iby Iwacu village visit for a chance to meet with the local people and have a taste of their culture and traditions.

Transfer from Volcanoes to Kigali
You will start your day with a morning breakfast and be transferred to the park headquarters not late than 6;30 for golden monkey trekking briefing. You will head into the jungle to track these endangered golden monkeys. These striking primates with their bright orange fur contracting the green rain forest of the Virunga Mountains are a beautiful sight to behold. From here, you will return to your hotel for an early lunch and then head back to Kigali airport for your outbound flight.
