Fishing in Lake Victoria
Take a speedboat and spend a day fishing in the world’s second largest freshwater body – Lake Victoria. The lake famous for being the source of the River Nile, is also home to some monster record breaking fish. Some of which weigh in at over 150kg (300 pounds plus). With a surface area of approximately 59,947 km², Lake Victoria is Africa's largest lake, the world's largest tropical lake, and the world's second-largest fresh water lake after Lake Superior in North America.
Transfer and Walk with Rhinos
Murchison Falls
After breakfast, you will start your journey to the Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda. You will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to walk with the mighty rhinos. The rhinos are one of Africa's Big 5. In the coming days, you will also have the opportunity to seek out the other members of the Big 5 - lions, leopards, elephants and the fierce cape buffalo. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s biggest and one of the most diverse nature reserves.
Full Day Fishing in Nile River
Murchison Falls
Full day fishing trip the Nile River and at the bottom of the Murchison Falls. You will have great opportunities to catch and release Tilapia and Nile Perch from the world’s longest river, and one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. Our skippers are knowledgeable and know the best spots for fishing. The biggest catch here was Nile perch at 113kg (248pounds). Beside the Nile perch you have tiger fish and tilapia. Modern boats are used but you are advised to bring along your equipment.
Another Day of Nile Fishing
Murchison Falls
Like the day before, spend the day fishing in the River Nile. You may change your fishing location by either going nearer the Murchison Falls or some other spot. Our experienced fishing safari experts will guide you. At day’s end, transfer to your lodge, and if time allows, take an evening game drive. This is an opportunity to look out for the big cats.
Game Drive and Nile Safari Cruise
Murchison Falls
Today go out for the wildlife drive through Uganda’s largest national park, the Murchison Falls National Park. Having walked with rhino earlier, today look out for the remaining 4 of Africa’s Big 5 - lions, buffalo, leopards, and elephants. Also watch out for a large variety of birds, hippos, and Nile crocodiles. In the afternoon, go out for the safari cruise on the River Nile and on to the world’s most powerful waterfalls, the Murchison Falls (also known as Kabalega Falls).
Transfer Entebbe and Home
The fishing safari finally comes to an end. We hope you have made some record catches of your own, if not for the record books. After breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe and on back home. If you so wish, you can add onto your safari: 1. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Over 40% of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas are found here. 2. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. This is the best place in the world to find and spend time with wild chimpanzees.
