Itinerary

Arrival drive to akagera

Akagera

On arrival you shall be welcomed by the company driver guide, and drive through the city and visit the genocide site and lunch will be in the city. After lunch we shall drive to Akagera N. Park and arrive in time to check in at the lodge. It's characterised by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. The varied terrain shelters game like zebras, buffaloes and others and amphibian life thrives there too. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.

After our morning breakfast, we shall head for the game drive in search of the early risers. We will return later in time for lunch and later for a boat trip at Lake Ihema for the aquatic game and birds. Dinner and overnight as above.

Transfer to Mgahinga via Musanze

After our early morning breakfast, we shall drive to Musanze district and visit the musanze caves and if time allows we visit the twin lakes burera and Ruhondo. Lunch will be in town and later we proceed to the lodge and check in.

After our early morning breakfast, we shall head to the park headquarters for briefing from the rangers about the dos and don’ts before heading for the exciting activity of tracking the rare mountain gorilla. We will retire later to the lodge for our Dinner and over night at the lodge.

Return to the airport

Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali. After our morning breakfast, we shall set off to Kigali city and we do a city tour before proceeding to the airport later for your evening return Flight. Places of interest during the city tour will be genocide memorial site and the Kandi museum if time allows.
