Itinerary

Arusha -Momela- Miriakamba Hut

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven 45 minutes to the Arusha National Park Gate. After the formalities are completed, a hiking team comprised of porters from the surrounding villages will be formed, and you will be driven a little further to Momella Gate. An armed park ranger will accompany you as you begin your hike and catch your first glimpse of the magnificent giraffes and buffalos.You will arrive at the Miriakamba Hut after another 1 to 2 hours.

Miriakamba Hut - Saddle Hut

You will leave the Miriakamba Hut in the morning and ascend a steep track with wooden steps. You will arrive at the vantage point 'Mgongo wa Tembo' at an elevation of 3200m after about 2 hours. After another hike through vegetation that transitions from rainforest to airy bush land, you will arrive at Saddle Hut (3550m) at midday for a relaxing lunch break.

Saddle Hut - Miriakamba Hut

At 02:00 hrs, you will depart for the summit. By torchlight, you will follow the trail through bush land to Rhino Point (3821m), where the path becomes a little difficult with occasional light climbs. You will walk on ground that alternates between lava ash and rock as you follow the north ridge to the summit.After approx 4–5 hours, the summit and the Tanzanian flag in your sights. There, you will be able to enjoy the sun rising above Kilimanjaro and the fantastic view of Mount Meru’s crater

Miriakamba Hut

Miriakamba Hut - Momella Gate

Return to Momella Gate. Although the descent is shorter than the ascent, there is still the possibility of seeing elephants, buffalos, and giraffes, as well as the black and white Columbus monkeys. At the gate your drive will take you back to Arusha
