It is a remarkable opportunity for the sponsors of Daphne Sheldrick’s orphanage and its baby elephants, to visit the projects they support and have a unique experience with their elephant calves. At the same time they will have a chance to visit the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, which boasts the highest concentration of Wildlife in Kenya and Africa as a whole. Part of the earnings from this Safari are used to support the Association ‘Save the Elephants’ in Germany.

Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi

Day 1: 19.03.2015 Arrival in Nairobi Upon arrival at the Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our Sunworld representative. You will be transferred to the Fairview Hotel for an overnight stay. A brief meeting is planned for at 2100 hrs by the Pool Side Restaurant of the Hotel for all participants to get to know each other. This is a good opportunity to have any questions answered. Overnight at The Fairview Hotel (Bed & Breakfast basis)

Day 2

Nairobi

Day 2: 20.03.2015 Full day in Nairobi After breakfast you will be picked you up from your Hotel at 10.00Hrs and proceed to the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for the public hour visit i.e. from 1100 - 1200 Hrs. You will get another opportunity to listen to each elephant’s personal tragic story of how it was rescued, touch them and adopt another if you like. Thereafter depart to Karen Blixen Coffee Garden for a scrumptious lunch. A brief stop at one of the Supermarkets is planned for you to refill drinks and snacks for the last 03 nights since beverages at Ithumba Camp are limited. Wind up with another foster parents visit at the Daphne Sheldrick from 17:00Hrs. At 1830Hrs return to your hotel. Overnight at Fairview Hotel (Bed & Breakfast basis)

Day 3

Nairobi | Tsavo

Day 3: 21.03.2015 Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park At 07.30 am we will pick you up from your Hotel and depart for Zomeni Lion Hill Lodge. The Lodge offers a wonderful view of the magnificent Tsavo East National Park with its undulating hills and vast plateaus. After lunch explore the park with extended game drives, leading to the third release center for the orphaned elephants at approx. 1700 Hrs. All meals and overnight at Zomeni Lion Hill Lodge (Full board basis)

Day 4

Tsavo

Day 4: 22.03.2015: Full day in Tsavo East National Park Enjoy one more fantastic day in this magnificent park. A late afternoon visit to the Elephant Voi stockade at 1700 Hrs is planned for and unlimited game drives are guaranteed during your stay. Time permitting we can undertake an excursion to the famous Lugard Waterfalls on the mighty Galana River. At one point, you may leave the vehicle for a while and take a walk to the rapids and see the raging Galana River disappear underground. You will enjoy your Lunch in form of a Picnic along the beautiful Galana River. All meals and overnight at Zomeni Lion Hill Lodge (Full board basis)

Day 5

Tsavo

Day 5: 23.03.2015: Tsavo East - Transfer to Ithumba Camp After breakfast begin your drive to Ithumba Camp, located towards the northern side of Tsavo East National Park. We will try as much as possible to visit the Elephants frequently and increase our presence in the release station. A meeting at the wallow hole is planned for in the afternoon and another one at 1700Hrs with the night keepers. This Camp is specifically self - catering without a swimming pool and has spacious, lovely tents. Our Chef will take care of you with deli-cious meals all the time. All meals and overnight at Ithumba Camp.

Day 6

Day 6 & 7: 24.03.2015 & 25.03.2015: Full days at Ithumba Camp Spend another 02 nights in this Camp. Driver and vehicle will always be at your disposal. The daily visits to the Stockades are also guaranteed. A number of spectacular and breathtaking wildlife sightings await you during the Safari. In the camp our Chef cook will continue serving you with fresh delicious meals every day. All meals and overnight at Ithumba Camp.

Day 8

Tsavo

Day 8: 26.03.2015 Tsavo East - Kibwezi Forest Depart with en- route game drive to the neighbouring Kibwezi forest, which is a conservation area where another release station for the Elephants has been set. You will spend the rest of the days at Umani Springs, a self-catering cottages, managed and run by the Sheldricks. A visit to the new Stockades is planned for in the afternoon. Your chef will continue serving you with fresh delicious meals every day. All meals and overnight at Umani Springs.

Day 9

Day 9: 27.03.2015 Kibwezi Forest – Chyulu Hills After a delicious breakfast, depart with picnic Lunches to the famous Chylu Hills National Park where you will spend the rest of the afternoon. Chyulu is a beautiful Park which boasts of magnificent scenery. This is a truly magical area of ragged craters, rolling grassland, exotic aromatic plants and cedar forests not forget-ting the diverse wildlife. We will end the day’s activities with one visit to the Stockades before returning to Umani Springs for overnight. All meals and overnight at Umani Springs.

Day 10

Nairobi

Day 10: 28.03.2015 Kibwezi Forest - Nairobi In the morning you take one last game drive and then depart for Nairobi to arrive in the city at around 1600Hrs. A private visit to Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is planned for at 1700hrs. This visit is specifically meant for the foster parents and the public is not allowed in at this time. You will have ample time with the keepers who will furnish you with all the information regarding the baby Elephants. Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for your International departure flight.
