This safari offers an incredible face to face encounter with the gentle mountain gorillas on foot in Bwindi impenetrable national park where almost half of the world’s population of gorillas is found. Tracking them is definitely an amazing experience for African safari lovers. We will also track chimpanzees in Kibale national park a natural habitat that has one of the highest densities and diversities of primates in Africa. We will visit Murchison falls for agame drive in its classic savannah plains. We will enjoy a stunning boat cruise along the world’s longest river to the bottom of the powerful Murchison falls and hike to the top of the falls. We will also visit Queen Elizabeth national park one of the highest biodiversity rating of any national park in the world, it hosts over 600 bird species and 96 mammal species. We will enjoy a wildlife game drive in search for tree climbing lions and savannah lions, leopards, buffaloes among others. We will also undertake a boat cruise on the 40km long Kazinga channel to view one of the highest populations of hippos in the world. We will also visit Lake Bunyonyi the little Switzerland of Africa and Lake Mburo national park for a walking game safari in search for wildlife and enjoy a launch cruise on Lake Mburo.

Itinerary
Arrival
You will be welcomed by a representative of Avelisa Tours and Travel who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of arrival, our guide will take you on a city tour for an exciting introduction within the capital. Visit some interesting and historical sites, including the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and of course the African Craft Village. We also advise you to have money changed today.

On the first day we will depart for the most beautiful protected area in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park the largest park in Uganda.Have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary Uganda’s proud home to the wild white rhinos for the unforgettable rhino tracking encounter. Continue with the drive having lunch en-route. Arriving at the park for check in, relaxation and dinner.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, expect to see elephants, Rothschild giraffe,Jackson , lions, & a variety of birds. After lunch will a launch cruise for game viewing,watch how hippos take a birth, elephants & crocodiles After, have a hike to the top of the falls,to have a clear view of the devil’s cauldron where the water forces its self in a 7m wide gorge falling 45m down forming a thunderous roar. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight

Murchison Falls
Depart Murchison falls and head towards Fort Portal. The drive is almost 8 hours but it will provide you with stunning views as you pass small African villages and banana plantations. The lovely town of fort portal rests in the shadow of the fabled mountains of the moon and is famous for many tea plantations. Have lunch on arrival and undertake a tour to the crater field. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive towards Semliki national park.On your arrival, a ranger will accompany you on the beautiful nature walk through the Ituri forest, enjoy the peacefulness of the forest, and look out for the rich bird life at the swamp.Undertake a hike to Sempaya hot springs both the female & the male hot spring an interesting natural attraction carry out experiments of boiling eggs and bananas. You will have a picnic lunch. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and over night

Kibale forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and a highest concentration of primates in east Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rain forest in search for the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black and white colobus monkey etc. After lunch we transfer to Bigodi swamp for a nature walk. The Bigodi swamp walk is an initiative of the local community.The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. You will return for dinner and overnight

Transfer from Kibale national park to Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s a beautiful route via Kasese, with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side and the green valley on your left. The day begins early with a rewarding morning game drive to the mating ground of the Uganda kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes,before returning for lunch. Another highlight of your safari is meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi. Especially hikes will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. The hiking may take 2 to 8 hours, it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they play, eat and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes.

After breakfast, under take a guided village walk for a closer meeting with the local community, learn about their way of living as you walk through coffee, tea and banana plantations. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset.

Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot since it doesn’t have predator animals like elephants and lions. Return to the lodge for relaxation, have lunch and embark on a drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for photos, water experiment and continue with the drive to Kampala arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight
