Itinerary

Day 1

Virunga | Volcanoes

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Meet and be briefed by our guide upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and be transferred to Kigali for a city tour including a genocide memorial site and shopping of African art and craft. Later, proceed to Ruhengeri to enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is famous for. Dinner and overnight at Luxury accommodation: Virunga lodge, Sabyinyo silverback lodge Mid-range accommodation: Gorilla Nest Lodge, Gorilla Mountain View Lodge Budget accommodation: Kivu sun Hotel, Kinigi Guest Hotel, EER Guest house at Ruhengeri Musanze

Day 2

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Have an early breakfast and be transferred to Kinigi Park Headquarter for briefing before you start the trekking activity in the park. Trekking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, strenuous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest before finding the gorillas. After finding them, stay with them for one hour which is truly an amazing experience. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation of your budget.

Day 3

Akagera

Day 3: Drive to Akagera National Park Wake up early morning, have breakfast then head east of Rwanda to Akagera National Park which has variety of big game like the buffaloes,elephants,a leopard, the spotted hyna and the a stray lion. On your arrival at the park, carry out an afternoon game drive and you will be able to see a variety of birds like the rare shoe bill stork, papyrus gonolek,and animals such as elephant, giraffe, buffalo, spotted hyena, hippo, and crocodiles. Overnight and dinner at Luxury accommodation: Akagera safari Lodge Budget accommodation: Dereva Hotel.

Day 4

Day 4: Canoe Ride Before sunrise, go for a game drive in the park and view the different animals returning to their hiding places and other animals like the buffalos, spotted hyna,elephants then return to the lodge and have late breakfast. In the afternoon after lunch, go for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see the large number of hippo, the huge Nile crocodile, birds like the rare shoebill, the jacanas, ibis, hawks, Malachite Kingfisher, Sandpipers. Dinner and overnight at the accommodation of your budget.
