Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Depart your home country and travel to Malawi.

Day 2

Day 2: Your RSC Guide will meet you at Lilongwe Airport and you will drive up to the stunning Ntchisi Region. Steeped in witchcraft and local traditions Ntchisi is one of Malawi’s most rural areas. The sandy track to the lodge leads you through traditional family villages and you get a really good feel for local life! Arrive at the lodge in time for your first Malawi sundowner.

Day 3

Day 3-4: Time at Ntchisi can be as relaxing or action packed as you wish. Take your breakfast on the terrace before heading out on a village walk with a local guide. Learn how to cook traditional Malawian food and discover more about the local customs. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon at the lodge or hiking, mountain biking in the rainforest. Every evening the lodge fire is lit and dinner is served by candlelight.

Day 5

Day 5: Depart Ntchisi after breakfast and travel by road to the beautiful bay of Cape Maclear. Take a 45 minute boat ride over to the magical island of Mumbo arriving in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, kayaking and snorkelling. An evening boat will take the group out on a sunset cruise.

Day 6

Lake Malawi

Day 6-7: The next few days are spent exploring the island by kayak, hiking through the inland paths and swimming, snorkeling or diving in the clear blue waters of the bay. Mumbo can be as energetic or as relaxing as you choose with a range of water sports activities on offer, or simply lie back in your hammock and soak up the beautiful views over Lake Malawi. The ultimate eco-lodge experience with all important splash of luxury!

Day 8

South Luangwa

Day 8: After an early breakfast make your way back by boat to the mainland and transfer by road to Lilongwe Airport. Take a small plane to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa. Your lodge guide will meet you and transfer you to your safari lodge nestled on the banks of the Luangwa River. After settling in head out on your first evening game drive stopping for sundowners and a chance to catch a glimpse of the parks nocturnal wildlife. Return for supper at the lodge and your first night surrounded by the sounds of the bush!

Day 9

Day 9-10: Rise early for your morning safari drive or walking safari. This time of day is ideal for spotting wildlife and frequently large herds of elephant can be seen straight from the lodge! After stopping for a morning coffee continue your drive and return to the lodge for brunch and a siesta. The afternoon is relaxing at the lodge before heading out again for an evening drive stopping on the banks of the river for a sundowner. Return to your lodge for dinner and a night of listening to the sounds of the bush!
