Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Marangu Gate
Kilimanjaro
Distance: 8km, Hiking Time: 3 hours. After breakfast and briefing at your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha, drive to Marangu Gate, check in and start trekking on day one. You hike through the rainforest to Mandara Camp. A trip to Maundi Crater is a great way to see the surrounding area, including northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest you can see attractions such as eucalyptus trees, birds and colobus monkeys.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Kilimanjaro
You leave the vegetation/jungle area and follow an ascending path through the open bogs to Horombo camp. The views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Peak are amazing and very adventurous. Look for giant lobelia and ragwort. You may feel the effects of altitude.

Day 3: Horombo Hut to Marangu gate
Kilimanjaro
Distance: 20km, Hiking Time: 5-6 hours After breakfast on the last day, a steady descent through bog forests leads us to Mandara Hut. Descend further through lush forest and reach Marangu Gate. A vehicle will pick you up at Marangu Gate to take you back to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha.
