Itinerary
Arrive at Entebbe
Bwindi Impenetrable
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, clear with immigration (Visa, Yellow Fever, and Covid Vaccine Certificates). We will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. If you arrive early, you can do optional activities in Entebbe, including birding in Botanical Gardens, market walks, shopping, zoo, and Ngamba chimps Island. The most popular with our guests is a canoe ride on the Lake Victoria mashes to track the prehistoric shoebill bird.

Drive To Bwindi Forest
Bwindi Impenetrable
After an early breakfast, get on the road with your private guide-driver and head southwest on a smooth-surfaced road for 500 kilometres. You will drive across the beautiful landscapes: rolling hills, cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and towards the end, the majestic chain of the Virunga Volcanoes. Stop-over en route at the equator, Mbarara (for lunch) and Igongo Cultural Center.

Gorilla Trekking Experience
Bwindi Impenetrable
Wake up early, have breakfast, and be at the trailhead in time for the gorilla tracking briefing. The excursion briefing usually begins at 7:30 am. You'll be assigned the gorilla group for tracking with seven other trekkers. You'll listen out for the general observable rules and be escorted into the wilderness with two gun-baring rangers (for your security) and a lead guide with a machete. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them.
Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Batwa Community Experience
Optionally stay back at the lodge and participate in some lodge activities like visiting the Batwa villages, walking through communities, and having heartful conversations with the locals. Other activities include a 10k hike through the communities and terraced hills, the 2-3-hour canoeing experience on Lake Mutanda, and the 2-hour Buniga Forest Walk with the re-enacted Batwa Forest Cultures.
Drive to Entebbe
After an early breakfast, you'll receive your packed lunch and board the 4x4 safari truck bound for Entebbe. Drive time is about 9-10 hours, depending on the en-route stops. Depending on your international flight back home, either enjoy a day room/overnight at Papyrus Guest House or wait for your departure flight at the Airport.
