Katavi and Mahale Chimps trekking: This safari will take you to two spectacular and rare visited areas. Fly to western Tanzania-Katavi National Park a little-visited area. Katavi National Park has a big combination of Wildlife together with Big Cats, Buffaloes, and Elephant out on the extensive open Savanna plains-Katsunga area-the best game viewing place with woodlands, flat-topped acacia bush country, lakes, and wide swamps – A journey with a highlight on the Wildlife experience. Katavi is isolated and undiscovered at all but the most passionate safari-goers. It is one of the places that have not changed since early European explorers. First started entering Africa interior, and has given the reputation for being impenetrable, of huge scale, and swarming with a big game.
Mahale National Park sits next to the longest pure and freshwater Lake in the world – Lake Tanganyika, 673km. And is about 1 ½ km deep and contains about 16% of the world’s freshwater. The lake is home to hundreds of species of fish including the brightly colored fish known as cichlids. For those who enjoy remoteness beautiful landscapes and wildlife Mahale is a place to visit in all of Africa. One of the most impressive travel destinations in the world. You owe it to yourself to somehow drum up the budget to get there at least once in a lifetime.

The main attraction is Chimpanzees. More than 1000 or so exist which makes this area unique, presence in the thick forests covers its slope. Jane Goodall made the area famous and has done much-highlighting knowledge of the Chimpanzees and sponsors their conservation. Pick from the hotel in the morning, Drive to Katavi, the third biggest national park in the country., game drive in the park. Hot lunch in the lodge, game drive to sunset.

Game drive in the Park which covers big grassland savanna plains, woodland, marshlands, rough hills, lakes, and rivers when combined with neighboring game reserves of Rukwa, Luafi, and Lukwati form a great eco-system. The area has few permanent camps with a few visitors a year.

Yet another day discover Katavi. There is a strong population of elephants, giraffes, Buffaloes, waterbucks, and hartebeests as well as predators such as Hyena and Pride of Lions which are simply seen while Leopard, cheetah, and wild dog can also be seen. In dry months from July to October hundreds of hippo crowd into the remaining waterholes and rivers while crocodiles sun themselves on the banks.
