This is great a adventure trekking and watching wild animals like Buffaloes, Giraffe, Zebras, Warthog to mention only a few. Many hikers use to hike Mount Meru before big hike of Mount Kilimanjaro as it helps for the acclimatization. Itinerary

Day1-Drive to Momella gate

Arusha

Morning after breakfast with your gears, lunch and drinking water drive to Arusha Park gate 40 min. Get permit and continue driving to Momella gate. On the way to Momella gate enjoy wild animals like Buffaloes, Baboons, Monkeys, Giraffe, Zebras, Warthog etc. 30min After check in start walking to Miriakamba hut. Take short route enjoy lovely scenery of the Park and wild animals. The walk to Miriakamba hut takes about 4 hrs. Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba hut 2,500m F/B

Day2- Walk to saddle hut

Arusha

Morning after breakfast with picnic lunch and drinking water, continue walking to Saddle hut. Walking on the crater rim, the trail is a bit steep. Walk through the huge rain forest and see the perfect view of Mount Meru Ash cone and wild animals in the crater. The walk takes about 4-5hrs. After arrive at Saddle hut relax with hot cup of tea/coffee. Then take short walk to a little Meru Peak for acclimatization. The top of little Meru is 3,820m. Return to the hut for dinner and overnight 3,500m.

Day3- Walk to the summit

Arusha

Midnight after refreshing tea with cookies, start walking for the summit. The walk to the summit takes about 5-6 hrs. Our slogan(Polepole) means slowly. Walk slowly passing Meru Mountain crater rim. After arriving at Meru summit Called socialist peak 4,566m, take photos for about 20 minutes. Descend down to Miriakamba hut via Saddle hut. The walk down to Saddle hut takes about 3hrs. Get breakfast and continue walking down to Miriakamba hut for 2-3 hrs. Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba hut.

Day4-Walk to the Momella Gate

Arusha

Morning after breakfast descend to Momella Park gate using longer route. On the way down you will pass in to the amazing tree called fig tree. See also wild animals on the way down like Gazelles, Buffaloes, Giraffe, Warthog, Monkeys, baboons to mention a few. Near the gate visit also Tululisia waterfalls. The walk down takes about 4-5 hours. Meet Van and transfer to Arusha City 1hr.
