Day1-Drive to Rongai gate

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast at the Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa, ensuring we have plenty of drinking water and picnic lunch we will then drive to the Rongai Gate, which takes approximately 4-5 hours. Upon arrival, we will check in and begin our trek through the beautiful rainforest to Simba Campsite. Today’s walk is relatively short, taking about 2-3 hours. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Simba Campsite, located at an altitude of 2,671 meters.

Day2- Walk to second cave

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, walk to the Second Cave Campsite. The clear day offers stunning views above the clouds, through the rainforest, and across the heather and moorland zone, showcasing the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The trek will take about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival at the camp, you will enjoy a hot lunch and have a couple of hours to relax. Afterward, we will take a one-hour acclimatization walk. In the evening, we will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day3- Walk to third cave

Kilimanjaro

In the morning, after breakfast and ensuring we have plenty of drinking water, we will walk to the Third Cave Campsite, traversing the heather and moorland zone. Today’s walk is short, lasting about 2 hours. Once we arrive at the camp, we will enjoy a hot lunch and have time to relax. In the evening, we will take a short acclimatization walk before returning to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay at 3,800 meters.

Day4-Walk to Kibo campsite

In the morning, after breakfast and with our picnic lunch and drinking water in hand, we will walk to the Kibo Hut Campsite, traversing the alpine desert. The day will be chilly, so be sure to wear extra layers for warmth. The walk will take approximately 4-5 hours. Upon arrival at the camp, you can relax and prepare for the summit the next day. We will have dinner and spend the night at Kibo Hut Campsite, located at an altitude of 4,720 meters.

Day5- Walk for summit

Kilimanjaro

At midnight, after enjoying tea and cookies, we will gear up for the summit. The trek to Gilman's Point takes about 5-6 hours, during which we will walk slowly. Upon reaching Gilman's Point, we'll pause for photos. We’ll then continue to Uhuru Peak along the crater rim for about 1.5 hours. At Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), we’ll take a few moments for photos before descending to Horombo Hut via Kibo Hut 5-6 hours. We’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night at Horombo Hut, located at 3,720 meters.

Day6- Walk to Marangu park gate

In the morning, after breakfast, we will descend to the Marangu Park Gate, taking about 6 hours along a scenic route through lush rainforest. Upon arrival, we’ll say goodbye Kilimanjaro and meet our van for the 2.5-hour transfer to Arusha. Overnight stay at the Tulia hotel where you can relax with a warm shower and excellent hospitality. The next day, you can continue to your next destination, whether it's a safari or a transfer to the airport for your flight home or to Zanzibar.
