Itinerary

Day1-Drive to Machame gate

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, with packed picnic lunch, drive from the Tulia Hotel Arusha to Machame Park Gate, which takes about 2 hours. After check-in, we will start our hike to Machame Campsite, enjoying the shade of the rainforest and the chance to spot wildlife such as blue monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys along the way. The trek will take approximately 5 hours. We will have dinner and spend the night at Machame Campsite, located at 2,835 meters, on a full board basis.

Day2-walk to Shira camp

Kilimanjaro

In the morning, after breakfast and with our picnic lunch and drinking water in hand, we will continue our trek to Shira Cave Campsite. Today, we will emerge from the rainforest and walk through the heather and moorland zone, enjoying stunning views of Kibo and Shira Peaks, as well as Mount Meru in Arusha. The walk to the campsite will take approximately 4-5 hours. We will have dinner and spend the night at Shira Cave Campsite, located at an altitude of 3,750 meters.

Day3- Walk to Baranco camp

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, we’ll pack a picnic lunch and drinking water and continue our trek to Baranco Campsite, taking about 6 hours. Today will be a chill day as we acclimatize to the high alpine desert, walking east toward Lava Tower. We’ll enjoy our picnic lunch at Lava Tower, at 4,600 meters, before continuing to Baranco Camp. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Baranco Camp, located at 3,900 meters, on a full board basis.

Day4-Karanga camp

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast and with drinking water, we will hike to Karanga Camp via the Baranco Wall. Today’s trek is short but involves climbing this steep wall, nicknamed "Breakfast" by porters, as it warms you up quickly. The climb takes about 3-4 hours. Once at Karanga Camp, we will enjoy a hot lunch. Afterward, we’ll take a one-hour acclimatization walk before returning for dinner and an overnight stay at 3,995 meters.

Day5- Walk to Barafu camp

Kilimanjaro

In the morning, after breakfast and with our picnic lunch and drinking water, we will hike to Barafu Camp. Today’s trek will be short, as we walk through the alpine desert, taking approximately 3 hours to reach the camp. We can enjoy our picnic lunch on the way or at the camp, accompanied by tea. After lunch, you can relax at Barafu Camp while preparing for the summit. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Barafu Campsite, located at 4,673 meters.

Day6-Walk for summit

Kilimanjaro

At midnight, after tea and cookies, we will start our trek to the summit. This challenging ascent will take about 6-7 hours to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters, where we'll take photos for about 20 minutes. After celebrating, we will descend to Mweka Camp via Barafu Camp. The walk to Barafu Camp will take around 3 hours for breakfast and relaxation. After that, we’ll continue to Mweka Camp, which will take another 3-4 hours. 0vernight at Mweka Camp 3,100 m

Day7-Walk to Mweka Park Gate

Kilimanjaro

In the morning, after breakfast, we will walk to Mweka Park Gate. After a successful trek, you’ll be excited for a warm shower, as this is our last day on the mountain. The descent will take about 3-4 hours to Mweka Gate. Upon arrival at Mweka Gate, we will check out and receive your summit certificate from Kilimanjaro National Park. We will then meet our van for a 2.5-hour transfer to Arusha, where you will check in at Tulia Boutique hotel for an overnight stay.
