Samburu National Reserve is a premium safari destination in Kenya for lovers of authentic game safaris and wildlife, not to mention that this is also a bird watching paradise. This Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa made famous in the best-selling book and award winning movie Born Free. The Reserve lies on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River in the dry northern part of Kenya. This hot and arid area characterized by a parched landscape of hills and plains. The presence, however, of the river and its shady trees attracts a large number of wildlife. This safari provides you with an opportunity to see wildlife that only lives in the dry northern regions of Kenya.

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu

Samburu

You will depart Nairobi, in the morning, passing through the agricultural farmlands on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. You will arrive at the semi-arid and open savannah plains of Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch at your favourite camp or lodge. After lunch you will take off for your first exciting game drive in the park.Your safari also includes visits to neighboring reserves – Buffalo Springs features a volcanic landscape broken up by forest and marsh.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Samburu

After an early morning breakfast you will embark on a full day of game viewing in the park. This park is known as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Gravy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa oryx & a host of big game including elephant and lion. There’s something about Samburu reserve that our guests find calming, even in the midst of all the wildlife. Perhaps it’s the fact that Samburu is somewhat off the beaten path

Day 3: Samburu - Nairobi

After breakfast, a short morning game drive can be conducted in Samburu reserve which offers a wide range of attractions. It is home to the Samburu tribe who are also pastoralists. Owasso Nyiro River which runs along the southern boundary is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Return to Nairobi with Lunch stop en-route arriving late in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or transfer to to the airport for your flight back home.
