Imagine being in a boat while looking at African game and colorful birds in the Great Rufiji River. Selous Game Reserve is an immense sanctuary measuring 50,000 sq. km and practically undisturbed by human impact.

The Mikumi floodplain, with its open grassland, dominates the park together with the mountain ranges that borders the park in two sides. The park provides excellent opportunities to view a variety of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much driving around.

Ruaha’s limitless wilderness awaits you on this grand safari. More than 10,000 elephant, vast concentrations of buffalo, gazelle and over 400 species of bird await you. The Great Ruaha River is the main feature of the park. From its banks, the game viewing is truly spectacular!

Itinerary

Day 1

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 1: Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve: Depart from Dar es Salaam at 0700am by 4by4 Jeep drive directly to Selous Game Reserve you will be passing through country side and have nice scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains. The trip will take you about 5 hours. Arrival for hot lunch relax at leisure till afternoon around 0400pm proceed with Boat game drive in the Great Rufiji River till sunset, you have a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery with a lot of wild animal and many species of birds about 2 hours till sunset then back to the hotel arrival for dinner and overnight

Day 2

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 2:Selous Game Reserve-Full Day Game Drive: After breakfast with your picnic lunch box depart for a full day game drive into the Selous Game Reserve: large numbers of elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, Wild Dogs, Hippos, crocodiles and many more live in this immense sanctuary, which measures 50,000 sq. km, practically undisturbed by human impact. The park has a variety of vegetation zones, ranging from dense thickets to open wooded grasslands. Game drive till evening then back to the lodge relax thereafter dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Mikumi | Nyerere (Selous)

Day 3: Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park: Depart after breakfast with picnic lunch box for Mikumi National Park. The drive will make you pass through Matambwe gate, will take at least 5hrs to make it to Mikumi, you will pass through farms along Uluguru Mountains and villages till Morogoro town then drive directly to park for afternoon game drive. You will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffe that naturalists say seem to be a cross breed between reticulated and Maasai Giraffes. Lion, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, leopard can be easily spotted in this park. Your game drive will also take you around to the hippo pool to view the hippos. You will be able to see elephants coming to drink water at the water hole. Enjoy game drive till sunset then drive to the hotel. Arrival for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Mikumi | Ruaha

Day 4: Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park: After an early breakfast you will take part in a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park then with picnic lunch depart for Ruaha National Park drive from Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park passes through farms and villages with very good landscapes and the Great Rift Valley. Arrival in Ruaha National Park will be in late afternoon. Game drive en-route to your lodge having a chance to see Elephants, Giraffes, Kudu, lions, leopard, Jackal, Hyenas, African wild Dog and many more. Arrival for diner and overnight.

Day 5

Ruaha | Serengeti

Day 5: Ruaha National Park-Full Day Game Drive: After breakfast, with your lunch box you will have a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Almost as large as the Serengeti, with its untouched nature remains one of the most exciting game reserves. It is a birdwatchers’ paradise with 350 different species of birds. Wildlife is concentrated along the Great Ruaha River that is the heart of the wildlife in the park. Waterbuck, Impala and Grant Gazelle. The Shores of Great Ruaha River is the permanent hunting ground lion, leopard, Jackal, Hyenas and African wild Dog. Enjoy the fascinating beauty of the Ruaha national there after drive back to your lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Ruaha

Day 6: Ruaha National Park to Dar es Salaam: After an early morning breakfast, enjoy your final sunrise game drive in the Ruaha National Park en-route to Msembe Airstrip. You will see the hippo pool, nice view from the bridge. You will enjoy your last moments safari having change to see crocodiles, Elephants, Zebras, Buffaloes and many more, you will arrive in time for your flight at 1145Hours back to Dar es Salaam arrival at 1330Hours.
