Day 1

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha Distance: 43km Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will meet your Safari driver/guide who will transfer you to Arusha city to Green Mountain Hotel Hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 2

Arusha

Day 2: Arusha to Arusha National Park Distance: 51km Non – game viewing time: 1hr After breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before you head off on safari. Here you will participate in a half day walking safari and a half day game drive. The Arusha National Park and particularly the Momella Lakes offer gorgeous bird-watching opportunities. The national park is inhabited by over 400 different migrant and resident bird species. The most famous bird species in the Arusha National Park are water fowls such as little grebes, eagles, pochards, geese, hamerkop, red shark, spurwinged goose, woodpecker, herons, secretary bird, grey parrot.  Also the park include animals like Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round. During evening drive back to Arusha city to Green Mountain Hotel. Day 3

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 3-4: Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Distance: 130km Non – game viewing time: 2 – 3 hrs After breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before you head off on safari. Afterwards you head towards the Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch at the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras. In Tarangire National Park northern Tanzania’s you will enjoy finest birding. The low baobab-clad plains and fever-tree groves here support many cool species including three Tanzanian endemics and near-endemics: Over 550 birds species found in the park including Ashy Starling, Yellow-collared Lovebird, and Rufous-tailed Weaver. The lush grasses are full of ground birds like Northern White-bellied Bustard and both Red-necked and Yellow-necked Francolins and many others. Day 5

Tarangire

Day 5: Tarangire to Lake Eyasi. Distance: 110km Non – game viewing time: 2 -3 hrs Walking Tour After breakfast you will heard to Lake Eyasi is a very scenic soda lake found on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This less visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western rift valley wall. This afternoon you will be introduced to the extraordinary people who belong to an indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’ (hunter-gatherer Bushmen). The tribe inhabits the shores of Lake Eyasi as do the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. You will visit these tribes, which will include a visit to their homesteads, learn about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and much more. Some wildlife and a wide range of bird species can be viewed during walks around the lake, which can be arranged. During evening you will drive back to Karatu Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 6

Serengeti

Day 6: Lake Eyasi to Serengeti National Park. Distance:  145km Non–game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs After breakfast, the tour will depart for Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Then heard to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species in both animals and birds. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight at Mbugani Tented Lodge. Meals: Breakfast. Lunch and Dinner. Day 7

Serengeti

Day 7: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park. Full game drive at Northern Serengeti to Mara River in northern Serengeti affords the most dramatic river crossings. Fierce and deep, cliff-sided and rain-swollen, the river takes an enormous toll of the exhausted and terrified wild cattle that surge through its torrential flow, some drowning helplessly, foundering in narrow defiles, floundering in mud, falling victim to crocodile, staggering, exhausted to dry land and often, in confusion, returning to the same scene of their ordeal allowing the cycle to repeat itself. Day 8

Serengeti

Day 8: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park. Another full day game drives in Serengeti. After breakfast game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topic, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The visitor’s centre not far from the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely designed centre, offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The centre also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. Also you will enjoy viewing over 500 species of birds including ostriches, secretary birds, different types of vultures and eagles, Egyptian geese, black headed herons, crowned cranes, Kori bustards and many more can also be found in the Serengeti National Park. Day 9

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

Day 9: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. Distance: 145km Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs Early in the morning game drive in Serengeti National Park and after depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area where you will have your lunch. Day 10

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu. Distance: 33km Non – game viewing time: 1 hrs After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. The annual migrants from Europe and Asia inhabit the Ngorongoro Crater between September. Among the migrant birds in this area you can see the Lesser Kestrel, the European swallow, European bee eater, the Northern Wheatear, European roller, Pallid Harrier, Caspian Lapwing and the Montagu's Harrier. Furthermore in the wet season you can see the Rosy-breasted Long claw and large flocks of European storks. On the bare grounds or sand tracks in the Ngorongoro Crater you can see nests of Ostiches, Kori bustards, Secretary birds, Grey crowned Cranes, the ground nestling Northern Anteater Chat, Rufous-napped Lark, Capped Whater, Fischer's Sparrow lark, Red capped Lark and the Grassland Pipit. The tree nestling birds of the Ngorongoro Crater are the Superb Starling, Rufous Tailed Weaver and the African White backed Vulture. The Ngorongoro Crater is also inhabited by birds of prey such as: the Augur buzzard and the Long-crested eagle. During evening drive back to Karatu to Flamingo Safari Lodge. Day 11

Day 11: Karatu to Manyara Maasai Boma Distance: 27km Non – game viewing time: 25 Minutes After breakfast the tour will depart to Manyara Maasai Boma. This is one of our most popular Culture tours in the Maasai tribe, which is based around a traditional Maasai Boma (dwelling). This tour is led by Maasai local guide and you will be told about tribal customs and the methods in which they build their dwellings. The village you visit still preserve the traditional Maasai way of life and you will be enthralled by the truly wonderful and inspiring tales that these people will tell you about their history and way of life. You will also get a chance to learn how the Maasai women make their beautifully colored and intricate jeweler. The money raised from the sale of their traditional jeweler goes directly back into the local community. In addition, when you join our Maasai Boma trip you will be able to watch a traditional welcome dance – something truly special that is sure to become a lifelong memory. Day 12

Arusha | Lake Manyara

Day 12: Karatu to Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha Distance: 110km Non – game viewing time: 2 hrs After breakfast the tour departs to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, also include Buffalo, Elephant Wildebeest, Zebra, Waterbuck, Warthog, Impala and also Manyara health population lion are famous for their tree-climbing antics. Lake Manyara National Park has over 300 bird species including Eurasian migrant birds, acacia associated birds, raptors, and 3 endangered Tanzanian species: Rufous-tailed weaver, Ashy starlings and Black-collared Lovebird. The bush clups on the edge of the floodplain is occupied by groups of Long-tailed fiscal, the rare Pangani Long claw. Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 13: Arusha to Ndarakwai Ranch Distance: 100km Non – game viewing time: 2 hrs After breakfast the tour will departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before you head to Ndarakwai Ranch.  The main activities are guided full or half day walks (where the emphasis can either be on game or bird watching), game drives, and night game drives. There are now some 70 species of mammals and 350 species of birds, making this a great wildlife destination. With stunning scenery and views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Ndarakwai Ranch became a place for grazing, poaching and deforestation that nullified the population of elephants and other animals include zebras, eland, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, kudu, and even a small rare gerenuk actively began to recover.
