Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants. Itinerary
Day 1
Nyerere (Selous)
Day 1: Pick up from Dar es Salaam and arrive for lunch, or if arriving late then just light refreshments. Nestled within woodland along the banks of the great Rufiji River lies Selous hippo Camp, an enchanting safari camp tucked into the untamed African bush adjacent to the vast, unfenced Selous Game Reserve. Sunset cruise on our comfortable river boat, looking at hippos, crocodiles and birds, and enjoying the spectacular sunset over this enormous river o/n Selous Hippo Camp (L, D)
Day 2
Nyerere (Selous)
Day 2: after breakfast full day game drive in a specially modified safari vehicle with a professional guide, in which you should see and learn much about a large number of animals, including all the great favorites – lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra – and all the other major species including the now rare African hunting dog. Great variety of bird species. Wonderful scenery, with varied topography: wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with long views to far-off mountains. Packed lunch and time to rest. Your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink – a place with a clear view all round so that no predator can creep up unseen! Back to the lodge by 6.30 for sunset and dinner when you’re ready o/n Selous Hippo Camp (B, L, D)
Day 3
Nyerere (Selous)
Day 3: Up eary morning break fast then game drive on route as you drive from southern gate of Selous to northen gate, is drive to Morogoro very beautiful as you drive through the Uruguru mountains,sceneries and villagers along the way make it more beautiful, arrive Morogoro for dinner and bed at Arc Hotel. Lunch will be provided on the way.
Day 4
Mikumi
Day 4: Leaving Morogoro Early Morning for Full day game drive in Mikumi . Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants. If you are lucky you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and antelope. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety.
Day 5
Day 5:- After breakfast, short game drive in the park, and then drive back to Dar arriving late in the afternoon.
