Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival at Dar es salaam International airport. Guests arriving at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) will be met by Gemuka Adventures representative who will brief you and transfer you to your hotel. Accommodations will be booked on a half board basis that includes dinner and breakfast. Accommodation: Maditeraneo hotel

Day 2

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 2: Dar es salaam hotel – Selou. After breakfast, we depart on our full day drive to Selous Game Reserve. Accommodation: Rufiji River Camp

Day 3

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 3: Full Day in Selou After breakfast, we will depart for a full day of game viewing in the Selous Game Reserve. Selous is the biggest game reserve in Africa. It covers more than 31,000 sq. mi. / 50,000 sq. km. In Selous, you will have the opportunity to see big herds of elephants, greater kudu, and Nyasa land wildebeests, African wild dogs, Selous zebras, crocodiles and the hippos that wallow in the Rufiji River. Accommodation: Rufiji River Camp

Day 4

Day 4: Full day in Selou. After breakfast, we will depart for our walking tour inside the reserve area where you have the opportunity to see the animals up close. After lunch, we will go for a boating and canoeing expedition on the Rufiji River. In the evening, we will return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Rufiji River camp

Day 5

Day 5: Selou – Morogoro. After breakfast, we drive to Morogoro for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Hotel Oasis

Day 6

Mikumi

Day 6: Mikumi National Park. After breakfast, we will depart on our drive to Mikumi National Park for a half day tour. Mikumi is famous for big herds of elephants, buffalos and impalas. You will also have the opportunity to see lots of zebras, giraffes, lions and watch different species of beautiful and colorful birds. Accommodation: Tan-Swiss Lodge

Day 7

Mikumi

Day 7: Mikumi National Park. After breakfast, we depart for a full day of game viewing inside the park. In the evening, we drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Tan-Swiss Lodge

Day 8

Mikumi | Ruaha

Day 8: Mikumi – Ruaha National Park. After breakfast, we will drive to Ruaha National Park for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Ruaha River Lodge

Day 9

Ruaha

Day 9: Ruaha National Park full day. After breakfast, we begin our full day of game viewing. Ruaha National Park is famous for big cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs. You can also see bat eared fox, roan antelopes, sable antelopes and lesser kudu and greater kudu and you can occasionally see the endangered African dog. You will see lots of crocodiles and the hippos wallowing in the Rufiji River. Ruaha is also the site of beautiful and diverse species of birds. In the evening, we will have a walking tour to view nocturnal animals that are rarely seen up close. We will also canoe in the Rufiji River. Accommodation: Ruaha River Lodge

Day 10

Arusha | Ruaha

Day 10: Ruaha – Dar e salaam. After breakfast, we will depart for a half day tour inside the park. In the afternoon, we return to the hotel for a hot lunch and transfer to the Msembe air strip for your flight to Dar-es-Salaam for half day room use and an early dinner prior to the transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Day use room accommodation: Medterraneo Hotel. Included: Full board bases accommodations at the lodges during your safari. Private transport (with no mile / kilometer restriction) in a 4×4 vehicle with roof, with VHF radio, a GSM contact with our base in Arusha , English speaking driver/guide, Park entry fees, canoeing on the Rufiji river, flight from Ruaha to Dar-es-Salaam, walking tour and drinks including the mineral water. Note: We do not have control over government taxes (park fees and airport taxes). We will try our best to keep the accommodation as mentioned but in case of over booking, we will provide a different accommodation of the same quality.
