Big 5 Safari

Day 1:   Arrive in time for lunch, then the afternoon game drive to see what's going on in the wild.  There are lots of leopards around, and they are very relaxed around the vehicles, so hopefully we'll spot one on a termite mound, or up a fig tree with a kill.  Lions will be lazing for a while, but as soon as the sun gets low, they'll stir, and we'll watch them prepare to hunt. Maybe some wild dogs will lope through, looking for a meal.  Elephants will be stopping by the water hole for a last drink before dusk, and we'll let them surround us. We'll stop for Sundowner Cocktails, and we always try to work on some night photography, getting those fabulous side-lit and backlit photos.  We'll have a pre-dinner cocktail when we get back to the Lodge, then eat a scrumptous candlelit dinner at tables arranged around the fire.  If it's a clear night, we might try some Milky Way photography before bed. Full Safari Days:  We'll be up early to catch that gorgeous golden morning light!  Nothing in the bush was sleeping while we were dreaming, so we'll go to see what happened overnight.  We'll have a coffee stop at a picturesque spot, and maybe some rhino will walk through, or a giraffe will be browsing nearby.  We'll return to the Lodge for a big made-to-order breakfast, then relax and let the rhythm of nature guide our mid-day.  You can take our Lightroom course in your free time, or relax on a lounge chair and watch birds bathe in the bird bath, or take a nap. After lunch, it's back on the game vehicles for our evening drive. Last Day: We'll go on our morning drive and say goodbye to the animals we've come to know over the past few days. You'll depart after one last amazing breakfast, but don't worry--you'll be back some day!
