Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1 Touch down at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, where you will be welcomed by a Jumbari representative who will escort you to your rental vehicle and assist with logistics of the vehicle handover. Our representative will provide you with your trip itinerary folder, driving directions as well as a cooler box with refreshments for your road trip. Your Namibia family holiday officially starts as you depart the airport for your short drive to Villa Vista Guesthouse, a family-friendly establishment situated in a quiet neighborhood close to the city centre of Windhoek. Being family owned and managed, the guesthouse is the perfect overnight stay for the start of your Namibia family holiday. While you check into your family suite, the children can enjoy the garden and swimming pool after their long flight. Enjoy the rest of the day on the open terrace overlooking the mountains to the west, or enjoy a moment at the on-site sauna.
Day 2
Day 2 Wake up to a hearty breakfast at Villa Vista Guesthouse before departing to your next destination, Gamsberg – one of the top three venues for stargazing in the southern hemisphere. You can expect to cover approximately 84 miles from Windhoek before you will arrive at your stay for the night, Corona Guest Farm. This self-sustaining guest farm covers an area of 23000 hectares and is home to large herds of free-roaming Zebra, Kudu, Oryx and Steenbok. Corona Guest Farm is the perfect stop-over for families traveling to Sossusvlei and offers a safe environment for children to explore. On arrival, you will check into your family suite located in the main farmhouse. The spacious suite features an ensuite bathroom, a small lounge and a private verandah which leads to the gardens. Enjoy your afternoon at the large swimming pool or alternatively your family can set out on a hiking trail in search of bushmen art, enjoy a guided game drive or collect gemstones. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to experience the starlit African sky with your family.
Day 3
Namib-Naukluft
Day 3-4 This morning you will wake up and enjoy breakfast before continuing your road trip to the famous Sossusvlei – bound to be a highlight of your Nambia family holiday. Your home for the next two nights will be the luxurious Kulala Desert Lodge situated at the foot of the Sossusvlei Dunes. With a private gate leading into the Sossusvlei, your family will have the benefit of being some of the first to enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park in the morning. After checking into your private family “kulala” (meaning to sleep), you and the family can partake in a number of activities provided by the lodge. You can choose from nature drives, guided walks or exploring the open plains by electric “fat bikes” – an exciting activity for both adults and children. Should you want to experience a balloon safari over the famous Namibia dunes, this can be arranged at an additional cost. After dinner, the kids can decide to do a sleep-out on the flat rooftop of your ‘kulala’ and spend their evening on the lookout for shooting stars and other constellations. The following day you will have an early start as you set out to arrive at the Sesriem gate by sunrise in order to skip the heat of the day and to catch the best photographic opportunities. Today, you and your family will have the opportunity to climb some of the biggest dunes in the world! Don’t forget your water bottles, sunhats and sunscreen. On your way back to Kulala Desert Lodge you can also stop at Sesriem Canyon.
