This journey is a 15-day trip starting in Cape Town and ending with a fabulous safari in the famous Addo Elephant National Park close to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. This is a great trip for families as the accommodation is based on family accommodation.

Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1-4: From the Cape Town International Airport you will collect your car rental, a Group B for this self drive journey in South Africa and you will drive to your accommodation centrally located at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town into two-bedroom apartment which is suitable for families. You will send 4 nights in Cape Town and with your rental car you can explore Cape Town and the surroundings at your discretion and at your own time.
Day 5
Day 5-6: At the time of check out you will drive in your rental vehicle towards the famous Winelands for your the next step of your journey to the quaint town of Franschhoek in the heart of all the vineyards and check into a guesthouse just 100 meters from the town centre. Franschhoek is about 50 minutes drive from Cape Town and you can stop en route at one of the many wine farms on the way. There is also a Spa on site if you wish to book Spa treatments. The package includes a family suite so it is ideal for families as there is two additional single beds on the mezzanine floor and this opens directly onto the garden. As you are within walking distance of the historic town centre you can walk along the main street to visit the many restaurants and shops and use your rental vehicle to visit to the many vineyards that surround the town.
Day 7
Day 7-8: After your stay in Franschhoek, drive to the coastal town of Hermanus for your 2 nights in this fabulous town which is famous for seeing whales during whale season and you will check into this boutique town which is centrally located close to the beach and is in town so you can walk to the promenade, restaurants and shops. In Hermanus lots to see and do.
Day 9
Day 9: After breakfast and check out, drive about 3 hours to the town of Oudtshoorn along the scenic area of Garden Route. Oudtshoorn is famous for its Cango Caves and Ostrich Farms and both are something not to miss and will be a highlight of your trip.Also we have included accommodation at DeZeekoe Guest Farm with rooms called Wood Cabins which are self catering about about 5 minutes away from the main lodge, they have breath taking views over the lake with 162 recorded bird species at the lake. Activities can include canoeing, fishing, hiking and biking. DeeZeekoe is also famous as it offers Meerkat Tours since 2004 which is a very popular activity where you can see daily wild habituated meerkats and the guest farm employs 20 families and they uplift the local community on an ongoing basis.
Day 10
Day 10-11: From Oudtshoorn drive about 3 hours to the scenic forest and national park area of Tsitsikamma and check into the historic hotel of Tsitsikamma Village Inn for 2 nights near to Storms River and Storms River Mouth, in the Tsitsikamma National Park. At the hotel there is Marilyn's 60's Diner and Tsitsikamma Microbrewery, this is a great stop-over for 2 nights and has been accommodation for more than a century and most of the rooms are situated around a typical Village green and the rooms we will include are in the west of the property with a scenic view. The area has plenty of hikes and walks on your door step.
Day 12
Addo Elephant
Day 12-14: After breakfast you will take another scenic drive through to Port Elizabeth with stops on the way and then drive about 70kms from Port Elizabeth to Kuzuko Lodge which is inside Addo Elephant National Park and check into the lodge which has awe-inspiring views of the big-five reserve and a watering hole and is great for families. The lodge offers game drives, game walks, nature walks, Cheetah encounters, star gazing, kids activities, Khoisan Cultural Exploration and for children there is the Junior Rangers Programme. Game activities are offered by professional and friendly staff. We recommend this lodge and have included it as the area is malaria free and is very family friendly even with a kiddies playground.
Day 15
Day 15: After your morning activity and breakfast, you will drive in your rental vehicle to Port Elizabeth and drop off your rental car at the airport for your onward flight. This will be a very memorable trip and you will creat great Jumbari Family Safaris memories.
