Day 1
Day 1: Depart to Kitgum You leave at 7 a.m. from Kampala/Entebbe to Kitgum to start your tour to one of the most magnificent Kidepo National Park through the plain and remote northern parts of the country with en-route lunch in Gulu before proceeding to Kitgum for a night and dinner at Bomah hotel. Sleep at Kidepo Savannah Lodge
Day 2
Kidepo Valley
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park Today you drive to Kidepo National park (nominated as Africa’s leading parks in 2013 by the world travel awards). The Park lies in the rugged, semi arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, gazetted as a national park in 1962; it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. The Park’s altitude ranges between 914m and 2,750m above sea level. The park contains two rivers Kidepo and Narus which disappear in the dry season, leaving just pools for the wildlife. Do afternoon safari.
Day 3
Day 3: Game Drives & Hot Springs Start with an early morning game drive; as long as you wish, a park ranger will help you spot the lions that may be sitting on the valley’s various rocks. Other wildlife includes elephants, leopards, bush duiker, jackal, bush-buck, bush pig, ostrich, buffalo and much more, in the wild Narus Valley. After lunch, you go for an afternoon game drive through the hot springs via the palm tree lined Kidepo River, Search for ostriches and leopard tortoises along the way.
Day 4
Day 4: Cultural Tour & Transfer to Gulu. After breakfast today you will visit the Cultural Groups and explore the fascinating, ancient culture of the Karimojong people. Visit traditional homesteads to share experience with the Karimojong Culture, sample local dishes and hear stories of the folklore of this remote tribe. Transfer this afternoon to Gulu and relax at the hotel.
Day 5
Murchison Falls
Day 5: Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Have a relaxed breakfast and prepare for your journey to the Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola. Have lunch on your arrival and start the walk with the local guide to view the animals in the wild. Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch located in Nakasongola district is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda. The Rhino re-introduction project is a project of Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority. Its conveniently located 176km (100 miles) north of Kampala on the Gulu highway towards Murchison Falls (branch off at Nakitoma Trading centre). Ziwa is the only place where you will be able to see rhinos in the wild. Presently the sanctuary is home to twenty two (22) southern white rhinos. The sanctuary has become increasingly popular with tourists; for Rhino Trekking, Shoebill Trek and Canoe Ride, Bird Watching, Night Walk, Nature Walk and Relaxation.
Day 6
Day 6: Drive Back to Kampala After breakfast (Inclusive), drive back to Kampala and lunch on arrival (not Inclusive), your guide drops you back at either your accommodation (Kampala/Entebbe) or at Entebbe Airport for your late evening flight.
