Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival at Zanzibar INT Airport / Transfer to Stone Town Arrive at Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ). You will be met and transferred to Stone Town. Overnight at Tembo House Hotel. Tembo House Hotel provides the perfect launchpad for a stay at Shangani waterfront area. It’s ideally close to the Forodhani Gardens, the inner labyrinth streets and historical sites of Stone Town. The hotel has 37 rooms of varying sizes and comforts. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and most have balconies overlooking either the beach, or the hotel’s courtyard pool.

Day 2

Day 2: Guided Walking Around Stone Town & Afternoon Spice Farm Tour After breakfast at the hotel, take part in a morning Stone Town walking tour and in the afternoon, enjoy a Zanzibar Spice Tour. Stone Town is the soul of Zanzibar Island and it has glistening historic towers that greet visitors when they arrive in Zanzibar and spend a few days discovering the capital’s heritage, and Swahili culture and present lifestyle of the Zanzibari people. The medieval centre with narrow streets, congested buildings with small courtyards and rooftop cafes built from coral stones where the name “Stone Town” originates. Enjoy a Zanzibar Spice Tour to see the abundance of exotic spices, fruits and vegetables farmed in Zanzibar. Learn how the spices are cultivated and how they are used and enjoy some freshly prepared meals prepared with spices as well as fresh seasonal fruits. Note: Dinner (alcoholic drinks also served) can optionally be taken at the famous Livingstone Beach Restaurant or 6 Degrees South Restaurant next to Tembo House Hotel.

Day 3

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 3: Flight Transfer to Selous Game Reserve, Transfer to Camp & Afternoon Boat Safari  After breakfast, you will be picked and transferred back to the Zanzibar Airport. Depart on scheduled Coastal flight to Selous via Dar es Salaam 09.30h – 11.30h (baggage allowance including all hand luggage 15 kg). On arrival at Mtemere Airstrip meet and transfer to Selous River Camp. Enjoy an afternoon boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. Selous River Camp nestles within a woodland along the banks of the great Rufiji River adjacent to the vast, unfenced Selous Game Reserve. The camp offers accommodation in tented rooms and authentic mud hut rooms with ensuite bathrooms and beautiful views over the Rufiji River. Meals are served in the thatched, open-dining area overlooking the river. Selous Game Reserve is home to the largest concentration of elephants in the world. The Selous Game Reserve covers more than 5% of Tanzania’s total area and has remained a vital ecosystem in one of the last untouched gems of the nation’s regions.

Day 4

Nyerere (Selous)

Day 4: Selous Game Reserve Unlimited Game Drives Enjoy a full day of an unlimited game viewing drive in the Selous Game Reserve and optional activities. A safari to Selous offers travellers a unique opportunity to see Africa the way the early explorers found it – pristine, alive with game, without places to stay and it is utterly awe inspiring. Day 5

Day 5: Flight to Zanzibar Island & Road Transfer to Nungwi Beach After a full breakfast at the camp, enjoy an early morning guided walking safari. You will be transferred back to Mtemere Airstrip. Depart on scheduled Coastal flight to Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam 12.50h – 14.20h (baggage allowance including all hand luggage 15 kg). On arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, meet and transfer to Smiles Beach Hotel. Remainder of the afternoon at leisure to relax by the swimming pool or on the beach. Nungwi is well known for its humble beginnings as a fishing village and dhow-making center of Zanzibar. Nungwi region is comprised of three unique areas: the village itself, which lies a short distance inland and is practically invisible from the shore, and the two main stretches of beach, where almost all the beach resorts, bars and restaurants are located.

Day 6

Kilimanjaro

Day 6: Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar Island Spending a few days on the long stretch of the beach where the sand is as soft as powder and watching the turquoise ocean in calmness is a rejuvenating experience. Day 10
