Itinerary

Day 1

Kilimanjaro

Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be greeted by your HM Safari representative and taken to a local lodge for a nice meal and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2

Serengeti

Day 2: We waste no time and fly you directly to the heart of the Serengeti on a local charter plane (and if you’re lucky the pilot will be handing out chocolates – it’s been known to happen!) Your first afternoon and evening drive will happen today.

Day 3

Serengeti

Day 3: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park.

Day 4

Serengeti

Day 4: Full day game drive in Serengeti. Today you can return to areas where you saw loads of animal activity or you can opt for a new location.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 5: After breakfast depart towards Ngorongoro Crater. This is a great time to view game en route. Depending on your energy levels, either a walk along the crater rim or a Masai visit are in order for the afternoon. No Ngorongoro Crater safari would be complete without sun downers on the rim.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 6: An early start to the day to ensure a full day’s game drive in Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 7

Day 7: After a full breakfast depart to the gorgeous Lake Eyasi. Again, depending on energy and heat levels, it’s possible to do either a nice, long walk or to visit the Datoga tribe followed by short walk and bird watching along the lake.

Day 8

Day 8: Today we get you out of the vehicle and into the African wilderness. You can spend a half day hunting with bushmen from the Hadzabe tribe or perhaps you’d rather do an intense morning mountain bike ride. In the afternoon you can relax in the hot springs and/or visit some local onion farms.

Day 9

Lake Manyara

Day 9: After breakfast depart to Lake Manyara. You’ll arrive just in time for an afternoon mountain bike followed by local lunch. There will be a night game drive in Manyara park this eve – something definitely worth doing.

Day 10

Lake Manyara | Tarangire

Day 10: Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. In the afternoon you’ll head off to Tarangire National Park. You’ll arrive in time for a lovely evening game drive in Tarangire.

Day 11

Tarangire

Day 11: Full day game drive in Tarangire.

Day 12

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 12: After a morning game drive in Tarangire you’ll depart for Arusha National park in the afternoon. You’ll have the evening to relax or, if you’re so inclined, there is the option to hike or mountain bike.
