Itinerary

Day 1

Volcanoes

Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda and transfer to Volcanoes National Park You will be met at the Airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the Hotel booked for you in Ruhengeri near the Volcanoes National Park. You will have lunch and in the afternoon be taken for a scenic drive in the park for 2 – 3 hours to view the splendid volcanic mountain landscapes after which you will be retire to your Hotel for Dinner and overnight. Luxury lodge (Up-market): Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Gorillas Nest Lodge Moderate: La Palme Hotel or Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge Budget: Kinigi Guest House or Muhavura Lodge. Meal plan: Full Board basis

Day 2

Virunga | Volcanoes

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park You will have an early breakfast and move to the Park headquarters where you will receive a briefing on the rules of gorilla trekking and be allocated the gorilla group you will be trekking. You will after the briefing be led by the ranger guides into the forest to search for the gorillas in the Volcano Virunga Hills and the verdant Valley. Once traced you will spend a maximum of one hour observing the gorillas in their natural setting. The tracking will be a 2-5 hour exercise after which you will return to your lodge for lunch. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking. Luxury lodge (Up-market): Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Gorillas Nest Lodge Moderate: La Palme Hotel or Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge Budget: Kinigi Guest House or Muhavura Lodge. Day 3

Volcanoes

Day 3: Golden Monkey and Boat cruise on Lake Kivu You will, after breakfast, move to the Park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park where you will receive a briefing on the rules of golden monkey trekking. It starts from 8am-11am and after you will transfer to Lake Kivu to see water animals such as crocodiles and hippos as well as birds endemic to this region. You will meet the fishermen who will explain to you how they go about their trade and allow you to participate in the fishing. (2hr Drive). You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 4

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and departure You will after breakfast travel back to Kigali. Depending on the time of your departure flight you may have a brief Kigali City excursion to visit the Genocide memorial site and later transfer to the Airport for your departure flight.
