Itinerary

Day 0

Arusha

DAY 0 ARUSHA On arrival you are personally met by one of our representatives and transferred to Arusha to a well appointed hotel. In the afternoon there is a full briefing with the climbs Manager and your guide. Dinner is included at your hotel. Overnight The Arusha Hotel (half board)

Day 1

Arusha

DAY 1 MT MERU / MIRIAKAMBA In the morning we are collected from your hotel and transfer to Arusha National Park. At the Momella gate we finish registration formalities before setting off with your guide and armed ranger - there is abundant wildlife in the forests! The forest section is especially scenic with strangler figs and the possibility of seeing buffalo grazing in one of the clearings. In the late afternoon we reach a viewpoint before heading onto Miriakamba hut for dinner. Overnight Miriakamba hut (full board) Distance covered 10km in 4-6 hours

Day 2

DAY 2 MT MERU / SADDLE HUT We set off from Miriakamba initially still in the forest zone but in a few hours as we reach Saddle hut for lunch in the alpine desert zone. In the afternoon a walk to the summit of Little Meru can be taken for stunning views before heading back to Saddle Hut for dinner. Overnight Saddle Hut (full board) Distance of 8km covered in 3-5 huors

Day 3

Kilimanjaro

DAY 3 MT MERU / MIRIAKAMBA We rise early and our hard work is rewarded at dawn as the sun rises to the East. Kilimanjaro is normally clearly seen from here and the sheer cliffs of the crater fall dramatically 1000 feet or more. We return back and after some brunch at Saddle Hut, we continue down to Miriakamba hut for dinner. Overnight Miriakamba hut (full board) Distance of 5km up and 13km down covered in 10-12 hours

Day 4

Arusha

DAY 4 MT MERU / MOMELA GATE The final section takes up to 3 hours to return to our vehicles where we say farewell to our crew and have time for a short picnic lunch and game drive before returning to Arusha for a well deserved shower! Overnight The Arusha Hotel (half board) Distance of 10km trekking covered in 2-4hours.

Day 5

DAY 5 ARUSHA Today a day room is held to allow you to relax and check out later in the day. A vehicle is on hand to transfer you to the airport to connect with your international flight, or you may connect with further programs (such as The Machame Route 7 day hike or safari to the northen zone - discounts apply). Includes:- Private pick up and drop off at the airport, climbing gears,entrance fees,rescure fees,ranger fees,Hut fees,meals 3 times a day during the trekking,mountain guide,porters transefer vehical to and fro the gate.
