Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1: Depart for your overnight flight to Nairobi
Day 2
Day 2: Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you are met by Afriqueen Adventure representative and transferred to your hotel, the historic Stanley Hotel.
Day 3
Nairobi
Day 3: A leisurely day in Nairobi to recover from jet-lag. Optional excursions to Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center and Carnivore Restaurant. (Dinner on your own. Night at the Stanley Hotel)
Day 4
Amboseli | Nairobi
Day 4: Drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park to arrive at Ol Tukai Lodge in time for lunch. Famed for its herds of elephants, the park also has lion, wildebeest, giraffes, and gazelles. Afternoon game drive with Mt. Kilamanjaro as the back-drop.
Day 5
Day 5: Full day of game viewing with a stop at the Cynthia Moss Research Center where a representative will explain the on-going research with African elephants. Night at Ol Tukai.
Day 6
Lake Nakuru | Nairobi
Day 6: An early flight back to Nairobi where you’ll be met by your driver to take you north to Lake Nakuru. The lake is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth - myriads of pink flamingoes, numbering in the thousands. Afternoon game drive. Lodging and meals at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.
Day 7
Lake Nakuru
Day 7: Another full day of game viewing at Lake Nakuru. In addition to the flamingoes, Lake Nakuru is home to white rhinos, Rothschild giraffe, waterbuck, lions, and leopards. Night at Sarova Lion Hill.
Day 8
Masai Mara
Day 8: This morning you’lll fly to Africa’s best wildlife viewing area, the Masai Mara. You are sure to see elephant, giraffe, prides of lion and thousands of wildebeest, impala, topi, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle. You’ll spend the night at Mara Sarova Camp.
Day 9
Masai Mara | Serengeti
Days 9-11: Three more days of game viewing in the Masai Mara - enough time to see all of the reserve and follow prides of lion or perhaps witness hundreds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River on their way back to the Serengeti. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the Masai tribe by visiting a local village and school.
Day 12
Nairobi
Day 12: A morning flight back to Nairobi where you’ll have the use of an individual day room at the Stanley Hotel and a last opportunity for shopping before your flight leaves in the evening for home.
Day 13
Day 13: Arrival home.
