This is a forest park with an area of 542 sq km…..lying between the peaks of Kilimanjaro and Meru, its an area of outstanding beauty. The interesting geology of the area is reflected in the impressive view of the ash cone and cliff face leading to the summit of Mt. Meru. Three distinct areas are to be found within Arusha National Park: Ngurdoto Crater, the Momela Lakes and the rugged Mt. Meru. The forests contain a wealth of birds and other animals. The Mount Meru can be seen from the park also Mt. Kilimanjaro when the weather is fine.

Day 2: Arusha / Masai village: 3 hrs drive After breakfast  drive to Masai village with parked lunch, set up the camp as you arrive then watch and learn the Maasai culture and life style such as slaughtering goat and barbecuing its meat, making fire locally, milking cows, trapping fresh blood from cow’s vein, woman building the houses, dancing, singing etc. dinner and over night at Maasai village camping (adventure camping) no lodges nearby! The masai visits at Lobosoit need at least one night stay…..take 3 hrs driving from Arusha town. The Masai at this area still keeping their original life and Culture; by visiting you learn and watch their culture and life style such as; imitation of slaughtering goat-barbecuing and portioning the goat meat, trapping the fresh blood from cow’s vein and drinking it fresh, making fire locally, women building houses & milking cows, entering in the house and learn how women builds those houses, women cleaning the calabash with special wood stick, singing and dancing etc. We recommends to spend a night camping (adventure camping) at the Masai Boma (compound) as no hotels/lodges nearby, even if you are doing the lodge safari no problem as one night will be camping then the rest stays in the lodges.

Day 3

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 3: Masai village / Tarangire: 3 hrs drive Before breakfast watch Masai women milking cows, breakfast then put camp down and drive to Tarangire Park arrive for lunch, after lunch go for afternoon tour dinner and over night at Tarangire safari lodge or similar. The Park covers the area of 2,600 sq km, and is 120 km from Arusha Town .Tarangire is nestled to the south of the large open grass plains of southern Maasai land. It is named after the Tarangire River, which runs directly through the center of the park and is the only permanent water source for the animals. Along the banks of this river you will find herds of wildebeest (gnu) and zebra, followed by Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. The park is most spectacular during dry season and this time thousands of animals migrate from dry Masai steppe to Tarangire River looking for Water and food also at this time is easier to spot the cats because the grasses are shorter.  Among other species to be seen at Tarangire are; buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, warthog, eland, giraffes and large numbers of impala…this park is famous for big herds of elephant and the baobab trees.

Day 4

Tarangire

Day 4: Tarangire full day Spend the morning viewing games and exploring the park, hot lunch at the lodge, another tour in the afternoon return before dusk for dinner and over night at Tarangire safari lodge or similar.

Day 5

Serengeti | Tarangire

Day 5: Tarangire / Lake Eyasi (Bushmen): 3 hrs drive Breakfast, then drive to Lake Eyasi for lunch, after lunch take a short walk along the lake, late afternoon visit Datoga tribe to watch and learn their culture and life style, return before dusk for dinner and over night at Lake Eyasi Lodge or similar. Lake Eyasi is a mildly alkaline lake stretching for about 50 km (31 miles) to the southwest. To the northeast, as far as your eyes can see, the horizon is dominated by the impressive Crater Highlands. This area is inhabited by small groups of bushmen called Hadzabe; who lives in groups hunting with bow and arrows and gathering roots, tubers and wild fruits much as humankind lived in the Stone Age. Over 100 years ago, when the stronger Masai tribes moved into the Ngorongoro and Serengeti, the tribes made the area around Lake Eyasi their home. Another interesting tribe in the area is the Datoga; these are very close to Masai as keeps cattle and marries many wives and their women dresses the decorated cow’s skin. The Hadzabe is the last remaining tribes of bushmen in East Africa.

Day 6

Masai Mara | Ruaha | Serengeti

Day 6: Lake Eyasi / Serengeti: 5 hrs drive Get up 5 am for cup of tea or coffee then drive to Hadzabe (bushmen) home, arrive then watch & learn their culture & life style also join them dancing, Optional go on hunting with them (Hadzabe is a tribe depend on hunting and forest products, do not cultivate or build houses stays under the big trees and the bushes), later drive back to the lodge for late breakfast, depart for Serengeti with packed lunch via Ngorongoro, game en-route arrive before dusk for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Katikati Tented Camp or similar. Serengeti is Africa’s most famous and Tanzania’s oldest and second largest park (after Ruaha park) covering 14,763 sq km and is adjoining with Ngorongoro area to the south and with the Masai Mara National reserve in Kenya to the north. This is the park at the height of the migration when columns of wildebeest up to twenty-five miles long instinctually follow fresh grasses through gorges, woodlands, and crocodile-infested rivers…. The wildebeest population is about 1.5 million and several other hoofed species including zebras and Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, buffalo, giraffe, warthog also the cats. During wildebeest mating season, males circle their harems, battling junior males that threaten their dominance. This annual ritual results in an average of 8,000 births a day during calving season. The best time to view the great migration is from December through August. The Serengeti is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat eared foxes. Elephants are relatively scarce and the few remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to the Moru Koppies area also this area offers the big number of birds life.

Day 7

Serengeti

Day 7&8: Serengeti full day Enjoythe day viewing games and exploring Seronera (central Serengeti) plains, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Katikati Tented Camp or similar

Day 9

Serengeti

Day 9: Serengeti / Ngorongoro: 3 hrs drive Early morning tour before breakfast looking for predators hunting, return for late breakfast then drive to Ngorongoro, Optional Olduvai Gorge visit at an extra cost, arrive late afternoon for dinner and over night at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar. Olduvai Gorge is on the Ngorongoro low lands along the Serengeti road. The museum at the Olduvai provides an excellent photographic history of research carried out in the gorge with a summary of the main archaeological findings. The importance of the area relates as much to its location as the way the strata of ash and other deposits have been layered then conveniently exposed during the formation of the gorge itself. Louis Leakey was the first of the Leakey family to visit the area in the early 1920s. His trip was funded by the British Museum in which his role was that of a research assistant. Subsequently his family has become associated with pre-historical archaeological research throughout East Africa. Outstanding discoveries include that of the famous footprints of a family of hominids dating back 3.5 million years by Mary Leakey.

Day 10

Kilimanjaro | Ngorongoro Crater

Day 10: Ngorongoro crater full day Early breakfast then drive to the crater with packed lunch for games viewing and exploring crater floor. Late afternoon ascend the crater heading to Karatu for dinner and overnight at  Ngorongoro farm house or similar. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, had it not become the world's sixth-largest unbroken caldera, then what is now known as the Ngorongoro crater could have been a towering volcanic mountain, as high as Kilimanjaro. The height of the original volcano must have ranged between 4,500 to 5,800 metres high. Ngorongoro Crater is an internationally important wildlife site. The crater is the flagship tourism feature for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It is a large, unbroken, un-flooded caldera, formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed some three million years ago. The Ngorongoro crater sinks to a depth of 610 metres and its floor measures 20 kms across with a base area covering 260 square kilometres. The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system (Masai lives with animals). Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking. The crater houses 30,000 animals including the big five (rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion & leopard) and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons.
