Lake Mburo | Mgahinga

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga National Park After breakfast, you will drive to Southwestern part of Uganda through Kabale town to access the park approximately to 9 hours. En route to the park, you will have a stop over at the Equator for photography. The journey will take you through Lake Mburo where you may have a chance of seeing fearless grazers and the incredible extended horn ankole cattle as you cruise through. A few Kilometers will be Mbarara where you will have lunch before continuing through Kabale arriving at the park in the evening. You will have dinner and overnight at Mount Mgahinga lodge/ Travelers’ Rest hotel/ Nkuringo safari lodge. Day2: Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga After an early morning breakfast, the safari guide will take you for briefing and registration for gorilla tracking at the UWA designated place. You will have packed lunch and adequate water. Fitness here is required as tracking will entail walking through the thick jungle and sullied forest. You may have chance to see many primates such as the black and white colobus monkey and golden monkey. After the assigned family is discovered, you will be allowed a maximum of an hour to take photos, videos and self interactions. Later you come back at the lodge. If you have energy in the evening you may prepare for guided walk and visit the Garama cave which is 342m long and 14ft deep. It’s one of the caves where the Batwa lived and fought their neighbors the Bantu. Come back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at mount Mgahinga lodge/ Travellers rest hotel/ Nkuringo safari lodge. Day3: Return to Kampala After breakfast you will start your journey back to Kampala. En route to Kampala, you make a Stop at Mbarara Hotel for lunch and then after proceed to Kampala.
