Safari summary

In this safari, clients will have an opportunity to spend the whole day with the chimpanzees in the forest from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm seeing them as they come out of their nests, grooming, solidifying family ties, going out patrolling their boundaries, feeding time and if lucky see them hunt some of there favorite monkeys the black and white colobus and finally make their nests for the night. The clients will be accompanied by a ranger guide who will guide them to the location of the animals. The walks to the chimps may take one hour or less depending on where they left them the previous day. Packed lunches will be provided to the clients and enough drinking water. Good walking shoes, rain jackets, long sleeves shirts, and long trousers are required for one to enjoy their habituation experience.

Day 2

Kibale

Day 2: ENTEBBE - KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK. After a relaxed breakfast we will depart Entebbe and head west to Fort Portal, with (packed) lunch en route. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to Kibale National Park, while passing the region of the Crater Lakes. Here we will explore some small lakes, before heading to our accommodation for tonight.

Kibale

CHIMPANZEE HABITUATION After early breakfast plus packed lunches proceed to the park offices to meet your ranger guide. Start your day with the chimps as they de-nest, awake at dawn, 06:00 am to 06:30 am, and spend all day with them as they go about their chores hunting, feeding, copulating, raising their young, breastfeeding, resting, patrolling, and displaying until it is time to nest, build new nests around 07:00 pm.
