Safari summary
Kibale National Park in south west Uganda is best known for Chimpanzees and tracking habituated chimps to watch these delightful apes as they squabble and play is Kibale's major attraction. Other primates include Red colobus, Vervet monkeys, Red Tailed monkeys, L’hoest, Grey Cheeked Mangebay and Galogo monkeys. This is the greatest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa.
Kibale forest is also noted as an area with a high density of forest elephants but they are rarely seen. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier than its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park.
