Safari summary

This spectacular safari begins with a stay at Naivasha in a lodge overlooking Lake Elementaita. After a hearty breakfast you will set out on a full day’s game drive to Lake Nakuru National park. The lake is situated in the middle of the national park to which it gives its name. Teeming with wildlife the park has so much to offer. Lions, buffalos as well as many rhinos call this corner of Kenya home and a game drive around the park is always rewarding. Next morning is a drive to Hell's Gate National Park. The Park is famous for its wide open grassy plains and towering cliffs offering an amazing walking or Mountain Biking experience alongside giraffe, eland, buffalo and a variety of small plains game like gazelles and antelopes. Fischer's Tower and Central Tower are high rocky towers formed of semi-molten rock. Wake up early to have breakfast and proceed to Samburu National Park where you will be hosted at the Elephant Room Bedroom Camp. The area around the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River along which the camp is set is home to the rare and beautiful species of Northern Kenya such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk gazelle and the Somali ostrich. The final two days will be spent exploring the majestic Masai Mara Game Reserve with its large diversity of beautiful scenery, including its meandering rivers, towering escarpments and rolling grasslands that provide the perfect habitat for the abundance of game, including the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and black rhino. In the morning, there is the opportunity to rise early and experience a game viewing adventure from an entirely different perspective! A hot air balloon safari across the Masai Mara (at additional cost) which takes off in the crisp morning air, and lasts for approximately an hour, allows for a beautifully peaceful experience floating silently high above plains, forests and rivers. Otherwise if you have not booked a balloon ride, after breakfast you will drive across the Mara plains in search of the big five and other plains game
