Arriving at Johannesburg airport your Wild Planet Safari Guide will be there to greet you and waste no time in going to Kruger National Park.Once we arrive there we will check in to our accommodation which is comfortable "rondawels" or "bungalos" and go for an afternoon gamedrive.

Gamedrives will be conducted every morning and afternoon.

There are also optional night drives and bushwalks available on this tour.

Itinerary

Day 1

Kruger

Day 1 Today your Safari Adventure begins! You will arrive at O.R. Tambo Int Airport, Johannesburg. We will be there to meet you and from here we go straight to Kruger National Park. On route we will stop for lunch and be at the gate in the early afternoon. We will take a slow game-drive to camp and check in for 2 nights. You will be staying in a Rondawell with 2 beds, en-suite bathroom, AC and a patio with table and chairs. The camp has a shop, restaurant, laundry and swimming pool. Depending on the camp it will also have a waterhole for animals to come and drink or a fence-walk where you can walk around, spotting animals or just sit at a bench and enjoy the beautiful view. After check-in we will prepare dinner before you go on a Kruger night-drive. A Kruger ranger will take you out with a big spotlight looking for animals active after dark. Many of the cats are active at this time and you can see lions, leopards, cerval, civet in addition to hyena, porcupine, honey badger and much more.

Day 2

Day 2 Just before sunrise, we will meet for a cup of coffee before we depart on a sunrise safari drive. We drive along the Sabie River and find many animals here including elephants, lions and hippopotamus. We will have breakfast when we return to camp and then you can enjoy the river walk before we leave Skukuza and travel north to Satara. On route, we will stop for lunch at a popular picnic site, before continuing through lion territories with some well-known lion prides, if we are lucky we may see the rare white lioness. We will arrive at Satara in the late afternoon just in time for a sundowner. The camp has a waterhole that is illuminated at night and attracts many animals. After check-in we will have time to relax, check out some of the camp facilities, before dinner is served.

Day 3

Day 3 Early this morning we will go for a safari drive in the Satara area. We will be searching for all the predators that make this area their home, including leopard, lion, hyena, cheetah and wild dog. If we are very lucky we may find a predator on a hunt. We will enjoy breakfast at a picnic site before returning to the camp. Once we are back at the camp you will have some time to relax and enjoy the camp facilities during the hot period of the day. You can go for a walk along the fence and spot some animals or you can go for a refreshing swim to cool down. After lunch we will go out on an afternoon safari, by now we should have found most of the animals you were hoping to see and maybe some that you were not expecting. We will return to camp at sunset and enjoy a last dinner around the fire in the park.

Day 4

Kruger

Day 4 This morning you can enjoy a relaxed start to the day and we will have breakfast at around 8am. We will then leave the camp and take a slow drive to the exit gate. Hopefully there will be one last exciting sighting for you to enjoy before we leave the park. Going back to Johannesburg we will take the scenic route. The road will take us up and over the Drakensberg Escarpment, the very end of the longest mountain range in Southern Africa. We will stop at some at a viewpoint, the highlight being the Blyde River Canyon. This is the largest green canyon in the world and the views on a clear day are breathtaking. We should be back in Johannesburg between 4pm and 6pm. We will then drop you off at your next night accommodation or to the airport for your onward flight. Please note that domestic flights should not be booked before 18:00pm and international flights before 19:00pm on our return day from Kruger National Park.
