Itinerary
Day 1
Bwindi Impenetrable
Day 1. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We have an early breakfast before, setting off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where we will track gorillas. We stop in Mbarara for lunch and since we cross the Equator here, we stop for a few moments to mark the occasion, taking some photographs. We arrive at Buhoma Park Headquarters in the afternoon after passing through some of the most stunning scenery in the region and check in at the campsite for a well-earned evening meal and a good night’s rest.
Day 2
Bwindi Impenetrable
Day 2. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a hearty breakfast we assemble at the main gate then at 8.30am set off to the forest for gorilla tracking, an experience that will remain with you forever. At the end of your time with the gorillas we return to your accommodation for some refreshments. Alternatively, you may decide to drive on through the stunning landscapes of Buhoma to reach Kabale and spend a night at the well-known White Horse Inn.
Day 3
Day 3.Transfer back to Kampala. After a restful night we set off for Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Optional Trip Extension. You may opt to go on to D.R Congo or Rwanda to track the other well-known gorilla families while you are in the region. Don’t forget to tell us if you have a group and we can then offer you a discount. Our price will includes: Transport, park entrance fees, gorilla permit and accommodation. The price excludes: Visas, drinks, International Flight, and travel insurance. What to Bring: You must bring appropriate walking or hiking shoes as trainers are not suitable for the forest terrain. Waterproof clothing, preferably dark in colour as bright colours will attract insects, is necessary since the forest is at high altitude so there is a good chance of rain. Remember to bring high-factor sunscreen and a hat too. During your trek you will need to have plenty of water with you, so it is a good idea to hire a porter for the day. Many of the porters are kind, so, let them help you, be generous and create a job for a day! NOTE/ Clients who choose to stay for more days at the end of their safari are free to do so. We can arrange hotel accommodation for your extended stay. Should you wish to spend more time exploring Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya or Tanzania, we can arrange further safaris and city tours to meet your requirements.
