Itinerary
Day 1
Queen Elizabeth
DAY 1: After breakfast, you will be picked up by our hospitable, experienced guide/Driver. You will then depart at 8:00am for Queen Elizabeth National park stopping at the equator for photography and proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch continue with your journey arriving in time for an evening game drive where you will be able to see a number of elephants, Uganda kob, and many other animals including many bird species. It’s a little wonder that Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest numbers of bio-diversity in the world from the open savannah to the rain forest, dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Day 2
DAY 2: Early in the morning at about 6:15, have a cup of coffee and then at about 6:30am proceed for game drive in the northern sector of the park where you shall be looking for prides of lions, the Uganda kob, warthogs, oribis, waterbucks, buffalos, spotted Hyenas, leopards and many other animals not forgetting the beautiful birds. This game drive takes 3-4 hours and then return for full breakfast at your hotel. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise along the kazinga channel which is home of many hippos, buffalos, elephants that come to gallop lots of water and many birds at the shores like Great white and pink-Backed pelicans, Great long tailed cormorants, open-billed stork, African jacana, malachite and pied kingfishers are commonly seen. This cruise takes 3 hours. Overnight at Bush lodge
Day 3
Queen Elizabeth
DAY 3: After early breakfast will head to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park in search of the tree climbing lions. These lions climb the trees for a number of reasons like having better views where they can go hunting. The game drive in this sector can take the whole day so you will be leaving with packed lunch. You will have another game drive in the afternoon or have a nature walk along the Ishasha River then later drive back to your lodge arriving later evening. Dinner and overnight Bush lodge
Day 4
DAY 4: After early breakfast, you proceed to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking. Kyambura is located on North-Eastern side of QENP, approximately 30 km from QENP Headquarters. Kyambura Gorge spans a distance of 16 km and links to the kazinga channel, which forms the northern boundary of the reserve. Village and plantations lie to the south. The reserve's mean altitude is 1100 m.a.s.l. The total area of the reserve is 156 sq. km. Kyambura is the only place in QENP where you can see habituated chimpazees and other types of primates including red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and vervet monkeys. The park is also known for its variety of avian species including various falcon, the blue headed bee eater and the Africa finfoot. Tracking chimpanzees can take 2-4hours so be prepared to walk for some time but it’s such a rewarding experience. After tracking, head back to the lodge in time for lunch and later in the afternoon go for the Crater drive with rewarding views of the craters. Dinner and overnight Bush lodge
Day 5
DAY 5: After breakfast, head back to Kampala or for your flight but having a lunch break in Mbarara and some shopping at the Equator. The journey will take about 7 hours
