Itinerary

Day 1

Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara You will wake up for morning breakfast, and thereafter drive via Narok town to Maasai Mara National reserve, the land of the Maasai tribe. The proud young Maasai warrior-nomads with their plaited hair, red cloaks, and spears, challenge your curiosity. The 700-square-mile Game Reserve is the Africa of your dreams, complete with wild animals grazing amid the superb rolling landscape of gentle hills and acacia woodlands. Check in to your camp. 12.30pm lunch in the campsite. There will be time to settle in before your first game drive. 4.00pm Afternoon game drive in the reserve. Return to the camp before dark. 7.30pm Dinner in the campsite. Overnight: Mara Springs Tented camp LDB.  

Day 2

Masai Mara

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve Today there will be a possibility to take an optional hot air balloon ride (costs excluded). “Take to the skies for the ultimate Masai Mara wildlife adventure, soaring in a hot air balloon over herds of game to the inner reaches of the Mara. You’ll ascend in the early morning, when winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air. Slowly the big, colorful bag begins to bulge and take shape. After your incredible flight, it’s time to come back down to earth for breakfast. You might wonder what all the ordinary people are doing on this perfect African morning! Before leaving, the pilot will present you with your balloon flight certificate, and then you’ll enjoy a game drive en route back to the camp. No flight of the imagination can match this airborne experience!  

Day 3

Masai Mara

Day 3: Masai Mara-Lake Naivasha Today after your breakfast you will be free to get out of the park and the gate and be game driven on your way out to the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive at Lake Naivasha in the afternoon and you will have an optional boat ride to see the Hippos. Overnight at the Carnelley's Camp. If you don't opt for the balloon ride, you will enjoy a full day uninterrupted game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Springs Tented Camp.  

Day 4

Day 4: Green Crater Lake Walk Breakfast will be at 7.00 am and you will be picked up by our driver guide at 8.00am. The road to the Green Crater Lake takes you out of Naivasha and along a rough and bumpy road down the edge of Lake Naivasha, passing by huge Greenhouses where roses and other flowers are grown for the export market. You will arrive at the Green Crater Lake at 9.30am approx and you will begin your morning game walk. The green Crater Lake was formed by volcanic activity. The group will walk in a reserve where it’s possible to get up close to Giraffe and many varieties of antelope. It’s a great opportunity for photos. The guides will answer questions about the animals, bird life etc and point out the rocks formed due to the volcanic activity. At 12.00pm you will leave for lunch at ‘carnelley’s camp’ about 20 minutes back down the road toward Naivasha town. In the afternoon you will enjoy some optional activities like cycling around the village or hire a small power boat for a trip out on to the lake.  

Day 5

Amboseli

Day 5: Lake Naivasha -Amboseli National Park After breakfast we will depart the camp for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi. We will be arriving in the picturesque town of Amboseli in time for lunch. After checking in in the camp, you will have your afternoon game drive in park. Overnight at Kibo Tented Camp.  

Day 6

Amboseli | Arusha | Kilimanjaro | Lake Manyara

Day 6: Amboseli-Arusha-Lake Manyara National Park After breakfast you will drive out of the park with the view of Mt Kilimanjaro, then drive to the boarder of Tanzania and Kenya at Namanga boarder, After the immigration clearance, you will be transferred to lake Manyara for its famous Tree climbing lions, You will arrive in for early game drive at 12pm you will set your early lunch then by 1500hrs you will leave for afternoon game drive.  

Day 7

Lake Manyara | Masai Mara | Serengeti

Day 7: Lake Manyara-Serengeti National Park After breakfast, we will be transferring to the famous Serengeti National Park. This park is to Tanzania, what the Masai Mara Game Reserve is to Kenya. Covering 14,763 sq km, the Serengeti NP is dominated by vast, open plains with an abundance of wildlife. A picnic lunch will be provided en route, and the afternoon will be spent viewing game and absorbing the breathtaking scenery of the almost treeless plains of the Serengeti. After an early breakfast we will proceed on an early morning game drive, returning for a hearty lunch. After a brief rest, there will be an afternoon game drive to further explore this world-famous park. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Tented Camp.  

Day 8

Serengeti

Day 8: Serengeti National Park Today we will have a full day game drive in the park. Serengeti is the largest and most famous park in Tanzania, known worldwide for its endless plains, wildebeest-migration, herds of lions and other predators like hyenas, cheetahs and leopards. Crocodiles can be found in the Grumeti River, as well as hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and gazelles. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Tented Camp.  

Day 9

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

Day 9: Serengeti-Ngorongoro Crater We will transfer to the Ngorongoro crater, via Olduvai Gorge. Ngorongoro is an impressive 20 km wide volcanic crater with 600 m walls. The views from the crater rim are breathtaking, and there is an ever-present abundance of wildlife, due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor. Olduvai Gorge is famed for the discovery of 3.5 million year-old fossil fragments of an early human civilization. We will enjoy lunch overlooking the crater, and the afternoon will be spent at leisure. We will embark on a half-day crater tour, overnight at Haven Nature Tented Camp.  

Day 10

Arusha

Day 10: Ngorongoro-Arusha After breakfast we will transfer back to Arusha for your flight home. The tour ends in Arusha in the afternoon. Please note: While it is our intention to adhere to the route described above, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable to make alterations.
