Itinerary

Day 1

Murchison Falls

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park The tour will start from Kampala or Entebbe with the tour guide picking you up from your hotel at 7am and set off to Murchison, driving northwards along the Kampala – Gulu highway. You shall reach Masindi town towards midday, and stop over for early lunch. Thereafter proceed and in less than an hour you will get to the park via the southern entrance. Upon clearance at the entrance, proceed, driving through the dense Budongo Forest. The dirt road is lined with anticipating Baboons so ensure the windows are closed else they snatch anything from the car. Watch out for birds as well as enjoy panoramic views across the thick forest. You shall get to ferry to cross over the Nile and transfer to your accommodation where you shall spend the rest of the evening relaxing. Travel time: 6 hours Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2

Murchison Falls

Day 2: Game Drive, afternoon Launch Cruise, Murchison Falls Hike You should up by 6.00am, take a quick cup of coffee or tea with a snack to warm you tummy and set out for the morning game drive. Being crossed by the Nile, the park is divided into the southern part and northern part. The northern part that is largely covered by savanna and woodland, has the biggest volume and variety of wildlife, and for that matter it is where game drives are carried out. The nocturnal and elusive cats such as the Lions, Hyenas, Leopard, and Jackal are easier to find during the early morning while they are still out actively hunting. Explore the game trails towards the Lake Albert delta for sighting of big game such as the Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, and so many Antelope. Enjoy the beautiful savanna landscape that is immersed with plenty of life and wonderful scenery. The game drive will last for 4 hours, return to the lodge breakfast and relax. After lunch set out for a 2 hour Launch Cruise on River Nile which sets off at Paraa, going upstream to the base of the Murchison Falls. Boat ride offers an array of wildlife sightings. Crocodile, Hippos, and lizards are a common sight throughout the cruise. Big game such Buffaloes, Elephants and Antelopes can also be sighted drinking and cooling off the heat by the river banks. On getting to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, leave the boat and set out for a 45 minute hike along the falls that shall offer you great views of the falls at different spots along the trail. On reaching the top you will find the driver guide waiting to drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Murchison Falls - Kampala After breakfast, check out and leave for Kampala/Entebbe. You shall make a stopover in Nakasongola for your lunch. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch
