Day 1

Bwindi Impenetrable

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park You should be ready for pick-up by 7.00am and set off traveling to southwestern Uganda. You shall reach Mbarara town by lunch and accordingly stopover for a meal. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi. The landscape in Southwestern Uganda is made of rolling highlands that are covered with terraces, lush forests and greenery. You shall enjoy gazing at this wonderful landscape as you drive to the park. You shall arrive in Bwindi in the evening, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner Travel time: 7 hours

Day 2

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Be up for breakfast by 6.30am, and prepare for the Gorilla trek. Pick packed lunch from the lodge, take enough drinking (minimum 1 liter) and a rain jacket, and transfer to the park offices by 7am. After assigning you a gorilla group, meet with the rangers and other trackers for the pre-trek briefing. By 8am you shall transfer to the trailhead for the start of the trek into the forest to find the Gorillas. The time it will take to locate them varies from a few minutes to several hours depending on their location and movements. Meanwhile you shall be treated to the natural ambience of the aptly named “impenetrable” forest that supports a remarkable diversity of wildlife. Observe rare plants, orchids, birds, butterflies, waterfalls, and monkeys! On finding the Gorillas you are allowed not more than hour to be with them. Return to the park offices briefly before transferring to your lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3

Day 3: Bwindi - Kampala After breakfast, check out and leave for Kampala. You shall a lunch stop in Mbarara town, a stopover at the Uganda Equator and the local Royal Drum Makers. You are dropped off at the hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch
