Day 2:  Entebbe – Kidepo National Park (1.5hrs) Our journey into the wild will start with a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe to Kidepo National Park. It is a short but beautiful 1.5hrs flight that will provide views of different types of landscapes and traditional villages. This area is really off-the-beaten track and not visited by many tourists yet. You will witness what the many years of civil unrest have done to this region, but also how it is slowly but steadily developing again. After check-in and a late lunch at Apoka safari camp you will head out for an afternoon game drive at 16.30hrs. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (B-L-D) Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is also the most magnificent, for Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. From Apoka, in the heart of the park, a savannah landscape extends far beyond the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. During the dry season, the only permanent water in the park is found in wetlands and remnant pools in the broad Narus Valley near Apoka. These seasonal oases, combined with the open, savannah terrain, make the Narus Valley the park’s prime game viewing location. Apoka Safari Lodge is the only lodge located in the middle of Kidepo Valley National Park, surrounded by expansive grassy plains and abundant wildlife. Ten expansive rooms are built of wood, thatch and canvas and have an uninterrupted view of the Narus River Valley, which can be enjoyed from your private veranda or outdoor stone bathtub. Each room has an inside sitting room, big hand-hewn beds and en suite bathroom with a large tropical shower. Kidepo Valley

Day 4: Kidepo Valley National Park – Entebbe. Today, you will head out at 7.00hrs for one last game drive early in the morning.
