This 8-night itinerary brings you to Kafunta River Lodge where you can enjoy game drives, bush walks, village tours as well as relax by our infinity pool or with a massage at our Fig Tree Spa. The safari continues at Island Bush Camp and Three Rivers Camp, where you will experience a very remote part of South Luangwa focusing on bush walks.
This safari is designed to have a complete experience of South Luangwa with three varied properties and locations. We have been promoting this package for many years, and we believe it has the right balance of nights at each location and variety of activities to ensure you maximise the game viewing while relaxing in the camps. it is also possible to do only game drives if you are not keen on the bush walks.

Day 1
South Luangwa
You will be flying from Lusaka to Mfuwe airport where we will collect you and transfer you to your first lodge - Kafunta River Lodge. Depending on your arrival time you will have an afternoon game drive, or simply relax on the main deck enjoying the sunset on the plains. A four-course dinner will end your evening.

Day 2
South Luangwa
Enjoy Kafunta River Lodge with a morning and afternoon game viewing activity, relax by the pool or dip in the natural hot spring. You can also reserve a spa treatment or simply enjoy the view from the main lounge or the privacy of your private deck. Meals include morning continental breakfast, full lunch, afternoon tea and a four-course dinner.

Enjoy Kafunta River Lodge

Day 4
South Luangwa
Enjoy the morning activity at Kafunta River Lodge followed by lunch. After lunch you will be transferred at a leisurly pace to Island Bush Camp (2 1/2 hour), where you will have time to settle comfortably in the open-sided chalets before a short afternoon game viewing activity with sundowners. Dinner under the stars at Island Bush Camp.

Day 5
South Luangwa
Today you will transfer to Three Rivers Camp. You can choose to have a leisurly walk in the morning near Island Bush Camp and be transferred by road later in the morning to Three Rivers (30 min). Or if you are a keen walker you can choose to walk all the way to Three Rivers (10 km, bush walk). The afternoon game viewing activity (usually a combination of walk and drive) will explore the surroundings of the camp with an amazing oxbow lagoon where wildlife is gathering.

Day 6

Enjoy the morning and afternoon activities at Three Rivers Camp. Sleep under the stars on your own sleep out platform.

Enjoy a last morning walk, followed by brunch. Transfer back to Kafunta River Lodge where you will have time to enjoy the swimming pool before afternoon tea. Afternoon game drive followed by night drive. Return at the lodge for dinner.
