Day 1
Day 1 -When you arrive in Tanzania, you will be met by a representative from Kia Lodge and taken to your hotel. Here you can relax and have a cool drink at the bar at your own cost and recover from your journey. Overnight Kia Lodge
Day 2
Arusha | Lake Manyara
Day 2 - Today you start your safari. You head through the bustling city of Arusha and out towards Lake Manyara National Park. You travel through the beautiful Masai open grassland and rolling hills. While driving you will see Masai herding their cattle and goats. Just before the park entrance you drive through the small but busy village of Mto wa Mbu, famous for its population of up to 120 tribes and its lively, colourful atmosphere. Arriving at Lake Manyara, you will enter the park and start your first game drive, first through lush forest and then out to open grassland and the lake edge. The birdlife in this park is a bird watcher's paradise, with many endemic species. You can also expect to see a variety of animals, such as impala, elephants, dik-dik, bushbuck, hippos and, if you’re lucky, you might see the famous tree-climbing lions of Manyara. Day 3
Lake Manyara | Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti
Day 3 - Depart after breakfast and drive to Serengeti. You will drive up the amazing Rift Valley escarpment, where we hope you will be able to see beautiful views of Lake Manyara and take a photo if the weather is clear. From here, you travel through farmland to the town of Karatu, which marks the start of the Ngorongoro conservation area and the gateway to the Serengeti. After a quick stop to pay the park fees you, continue your journey through the conservation area towards the Serengeti. If the weather is clear you can stop at the viewpoint for your first glimpse of Ngorongoro Crater. Before reaching the Serengeti gate, you will have the option visit the archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge. This site is famous for the Laetoli hominid footprints and many other archaeological discoveries that have been made during its 70 years of excavation by the Leaky family and other researchers. Once you arrive at the Serengeti gate there will be a short stop, and you will then enter the land of the endless plains and start your first game drive in the Serengeti on the way to your camp. Day 4
Serengeti
Day 4 - After breakfast at the lodge, you will begin a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. This park covers an area of 14,763 square kilometers and has a range of different habitats including open grasslands, marshes, forests and kopjes. You will spend the day moving around the different habitats looking for animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, impala, zebras, wildebeest, Grant's gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. There is a wide variety of bird life. The sheer size of this park and its amazing changing scenery makes this a day to remember. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Tented Camp
Day 5
Day 5 - Depart after breakfast and drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area onto your camp, where you may relax and enjoy the view of the forest with a cold drink. Dinner and overnight at Crater Forest Tented Camp
Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater
Day 6 - After breakfast you head off into the Ngorongoro conservation area for a crater tour. The crater – or Caldera, which is the correct term – is over 20 kilometers wide and approximately 600 meters deep. If you are lucky and have a clear day, from the bottom you will be able to see the whole way around the crater walls. Today you will do a game drive over the crater floor, through grassland and forest, and see the soda lake named Lake Makat. Ngorongoro Crater is famous for the presence of the Big Five – buffalos, black rhinos, elephants, lions and leopards. It also contains many other animals, such as cheetahs, zebras, hippos, serval cats, hyenas and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Crater Forest Tented Camp
Day 7
Arusha
Day 7 - Today you can have a lie-in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the camp before starting your final journey back to Arusha. Before reaching the town centre you will have a chance to stop at one of the largest curio shops in Tanzania or the Meserani Snake Park (optional activity at your own cost). You will then be taken to Arusha town or the international airport, depending on your plans. End of safari
