Itinerary

Day 1

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha Jambo, welcome to Tanzania. A Bush 2 City Adventure`s guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation in the bustling small town of Arusha.

Day 2

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 2: Arusha to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and depart to Marangu Gate, about 4 hours’ drive from Arusha town, as a getaway point to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, and you will be accompanied by guide and crews all the way. After being done with the registration process at the gate you will start to trek toward Mandara Hut as the first where you will spend your overnight. The walk will take you about 3 to 4 hours and you will cover an altitude of 1900 meters up to 2720 meters. Along the way, you will have enough time to rest and have lunch before continuing with the trek while learning about the mountain history, vegetations and different species of wildlife found at the park such as birds and animals.

Day 3

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut After having a good night rest at the camp followed an early breakfast, you will depart from Mandara Hut and trek all the way up to night rest at the camp followed an early breakfast, you will depart from Mandara Hut and trek all the way up to Horombo Hut where you will spend your third night on the Mountain. A total of 11 km will be covered during the day that will take approximately six hours with an altitude rise up to 3720 meters. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautifull scenery of mountain that includes different landscapes such as a clear view of the snow capped peak of Kibo and Mawenzi peak, forest, and animals which together they will make the unforgettable experience and lifetime memories to cherish. During the trek, you will have time to break for lunch and learn about different and fascinating plant species found along the way such giant groundsels, lobelias and much more. Late in the afternoon, you will arrive at the camp in time for your dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 4

Kilimanjaro

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut Today, your trek will cover approximately 9 kms, and rise for about 1000 meters, this route will take you to the southern part, where on this path you will have last chance to fill up your water bottles at Maua River as the last point to collect fresh and usable water and lunch will be served at this spot before proceed trek toward Mawenzi Ridge and into the dry terrain famously known as Saddle. The route itself is very steep consist of less vegetation, but despite that, you will have a great view of cones of Mount Kilimanjaro. Late in the evening, you will arrive at the camp for dinner and overnight at Kibo Huts. Today you’re advised after dinner to get to bed early as the next day you will depart in the midnight and head for the summit.,

Day 5

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut Today is the summit day, you’re scheduled to wake up early in the morning around 23:00 hours. After breakfast, 30 minutes later you will trek for 13 hours and rise to an altitude of 1176 meters which will cover approximately 23 km. You’re expected to reach the summit before sunrise around 07:00, and today is considered to be the toughest day ever. During the trek, you will pass by the rocky terrain followed by the zig zags, and you will pass different points before reach the summit such as William’s Point 5131 meters, Hans Meyers Cave 5258 meters, and finally Gilman’s Point 5719 meters. After reaching the summit you will have a short time to celebrate and take photos with friends and guides and congratulates yourself before start to descend to Kibo hut. Upon arrival at the camp, you will have two good hours of rest followed by lunch before set off again and continue to descend up to Horombo Hut where you will arrive in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

DAY 6: Horombo Hut to Arusha After breakfast at the camp, you will begin to descend to Marangu Gate, via Mandara Hut where you will enjoy your lunch before proceed to descend to Marangu Gate. The walk will take you approximately 7 hours and cover 20 km. Upon arrival at the gate, you will have the chance to celebrate together with the guide and crew by offering them tips and you will be awarded a certificate by Kilimanjaro National Park for successfully complete the trek to the summit. After that, you will board a transfer vehicle that will be waiting to drive you back to Arusha to your designated lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 7: Arusha to Tarangire National Park After breakfast, you will be greeted at your accommodation by your Bush 2 City Adventure`s guide who will brief you about safety in the parks whilst on safari. You will then depart for your first day of safari and make way to the picturesque Tarangire National Park for an adventure packed day of game driving.  You will reach your accommodation in time for you to settle in and enjoy a hot lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy an afternoon game drive. Tarangire National Park is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characteristically known for its giant baobab tress that stretches and wind their branches into the blue sky. The most spectacular feature of Tarangire is its large elephant population. In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania. These gentle giants abound in excess of 3,000. Tarangire is currently experiencing and elephant baby boom and you will notice a lot of juniors and babies as members of the herd.  Also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik-dik, impala, warthog, and reedbuck. Primates you may encounter are an olive baboon, vervet monkey, and bush baby. Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal.

Day 8

Serengeti | Tarangire

Day 8: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park Enjoy breakfast, before departing through the rolling hills of the Ngorongoro Highlands to visit a traditional Maasai village. Here you will be greeted by the Chief who will guide you around the nearby Boma and explain the culture of the Maasai people. After saying goodbye to the Maasai people, you will head towards the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy lunch en-route as you head towards the entry gate for the world famous Serengeti National Park. Tanzania’s oldest and most popular National Park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.

Day 9

Serengeti

Day 9: Serengeti National Park This morning, embark on an optional hot air balloon ride over the boundless Serengeti plains, just as animals begin to stir. For those not enjoying a balloon safari, you may opt for an early morning game drive. At sunrise, you may encounter animals grazing in the beautiful light of sunrise and predators may still be busy hunting before retiring to rest for the day.  Sunrise on the Serengeti is not to be missed and extraordinary photographic opportunities will abound at this magical time of day. You have the option to return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or to opt for a packed lunch which can be enjoyed at one of the various picnic sites found in the Serengeti. After lunch, you will continue on a game drive.  Around the time of dusk be on the lookout for lion. Cheetah can also be spotted on the plains in the early morning and late afternoon when temperatures are not too high. They rely on daylight and speed to catch their prey.  Hippo pods can be seen in the bigger pools and rivers while crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the riverbanks. Return to the comfort of your lodge for drinks and an overnight stay.

Day 10

Serengeti

Day 10: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation After breakfast, you’ll start an 8:00 am enjoy morning game drive at Serengeti, afternoon depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Old Duvai George.

Day 11

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater to Airport At sunrise, we descend 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Animals that you may find in the crater include wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and elephant. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Tour the Lerai Forest with its yellow-barked acacias, searching for giant-tusked elephant, rare black rhino and black- mined lion.  Bird lovers can view flamingo and other species, which share the shallow waters with a big game. You may also see Maasai herdsmen and their cattle the crater is in their territory, and the Maasai continue to coexist with wildlife as they have for centuries. Stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo pool and watch resident hippos bobbling in the river. Ascend the crater in the early afternoon depart to airport for your return flight back home.
