Rwanda is a landlocked country in tropical Africa, situated on the eastern rim of the Albertine Rift, a western arm of the Great Rift Valley, on the watershed between Africa's two largest river systems: the Nile and the Congo. Much of the country's 26,338 kms is impressively mountainous, the highest peak being Karisimbi (4,507m) in the volcanic Virunga chain protected by the Parc des Volcans. The largest body of water is Lake Kivu.

Rwanda is enjoying an increasing number of visitors, whose main interests are the mountain gorilla tracking in the Parc National des Volcans, the primates of Nyungwe Forest and game drives at Akagera National Park.

Day 1

Day 1 Morning/Afternoon arrival at the airport or border post. Received and transferred by our representatives to hotel Kigali Dinner and Overnight

Day 2

Akagera

Day 2 - Kigali – Akagera Park After breakfast - transfer to Akagera National Park for game viewing and Birding watching Whilst on the game drive, you will see animals such as Elephants, Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Zebras, Giraffes, Clands. Afternoon leisure at the hotel. Dinner and Overnight

Day 3

Akagera

Day 3 - Akagera N. Park Full day of game viewing/afternoon option of boat trip. There are many concentrations of Hippos, Crocodiles as well as water birds Dinner and Overnight

Day 4

Akagera

Day 4 - Akagera – Mt. Karisimbi After breakfast - transfer to Mount Karisimbi, the highest of the eight volcanoes in the viringa Mountains. Dinner and Overnight

Day 5

Day 5 – Mt. Karisimbi After breakfast - start climbing Mount Karisimbi. You will camp in the mountain (Subject to availability of support crew)

Day 6

Day 6 – Mt Karisimbi Climb up to the peak of Karisimbi 4507M - descend later in the afternoon Dinner and Overnight

Volcanoes

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking-Parc des Volcans After breakfast – Leave for Gorilla Tracking in the Volcanoes gorilla park Dinner and Overnight

Day 8

Day 8-Parc des Volcans After breakfast –Hike to the famous Dian fossey Research Centre and Gorilla Grave Yard. This is where Dr Fossey spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas . Dinner and Overnight

Day 9

Day 9: Parc des Volcans –Nyungwe Breakfast then transfer to the Nyungwe forest .This forest contains a variety of habitan65s including Montane Forest, Bamboo grassland , Swamp and bogs.Nyungwe is very mountainous .It provides some of the best colobus Monkey Experience in East Africa. This park is famous of its high concentration of primates especially the chimpanzees Dinner and overnight

Day 10

Day 10: Nyungwe N.Park Breakfast-depart for primate / Chimpanzee trekking expedition in the forest in search of colonies of habituated primates. Other wild life in the park include grey cheeked Mangabeys , blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L;hoest monkeys and owl faced monkeys Meals and overnight
