Safari summary
Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Eastern Arc Mountains with a 3-day adventure to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, one of Tanzania’s most biologically diverse and scenic protected areas. Located in south-central Tanzania, Udzungwa is often referred to as the “Galápagos of Africa” due to its extraordinary concentration of endemic plant and animal species.
Unlike many other national parks in Tanzania, Udzungwa is best explored on foot. Its network of forest trails leads visitors through tropical rainforest, montane forest, waterfalls, and rolling hills. The park is home to rare primates such as the Iringa red colobus monkey and the Sanje crested mangabey, as well as elephants, bushbucks, and over 400 bird species. Towering trees, hanging vines, and colorful butterflies create a magical hiking experience.
This journey also includes nearby attractions such as the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls and cultural experiences in surrounding villages, offering insight into local traditions and daily life. Ideal for nature lovers, hikers, photographers, and adventure seekers, this 3-day escape combines wildlife, landscapes, and authentic cultural encounters in one unforgettable mountain adventure.
