Route: Park Gate to First Camp Your adventure begins at the park gate after registration and briefing. Trek through lush rainforest filled with towering trees, tropical birds, and possibly colobus monkeys. The trail is steady and scenic, allowing your body to begin adjusting to the altitude.

Route: First Camp to Mid Camp Leave the rainforest behind and enter the heather and moorland zone. The landscape opens up with giant groundsels and sweeping views across the mountain slopes. The air becomes cooler as you gain elevation.

Route: Mid Camp to High Camp Today’s trek crosses dramatic alpine desert terrain. The vegetation thins, and the scenery becomes rugged and lunar-like. You’ll arrive at High Camp early to rest and prepare for the summit push. Hydration and relaxation are key.

Summit Night – Uhuru Peak
Route: High Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Descend to Lower Camp Around midnight, begin your final ascent under the stars. This is the most challenging but most rewarding part of the climb. Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise and celebrate standing on Africa’s highest point. After photos and celebration, descend carefully to Lower Camp for rest.
