Safari summary
This 14-night safari through Botswana and Zimbabwe is designed for travellers who want more than just game drives. It’s about time in remote areas, varied ecosystems, and a slower, more immersive experience of the bush. With a mix of land and water-based activities, the itinerary moves through private concessions, national parks, and UNESCO-listed wildlife areas, offering access to some of the region’s richest wildlife habitats.
Your journey begins in the Greater Moremi region of Botswana, where daily game drives explore a mix of mopane woodland and open plains; ideal terrain for spotting predators and plains game. From there, you’ll fly into the heart of the Okavango Delta, where mokoro excursions take you through quiet channels and lagoons, with the chance to see wildlife from water level and take in the unique pace of the Delta.
Next, you’ll head north to the Chobe Enclave, a key elephant corridor where large herds move freely between Botswana and Zimbabwe. Wildlife sightings here are often close-range and consistent, particularly around waterholes. Then cross into Hwange National Park, where two different camps offer contrasting experiences: one focused on lion-rich grasslands and sweeping views, the other on walking safaris and historical rock features in a more rugged corner of the park.
Your tour ends at Victoria Falls, with time to explore the rainforest trails and viewpoints around the falls themselves, a striking finish to a varied and well-paced overland safari. This trip is ideal for those looking to move beyond the highlights reel and experience these wild areas in a more intentional and connected way.
