This safari offers an insight into comprehensive and broad travelling experience throughout Central Kalahari Game reserve. It is ideal for the adventure enthusiast offering breathtaking scenery and desert wildlife.
This 7 day safari through the Kalahari starts in Maun, from where you travel 120 km southwest to the Kalahari. During this trip minimal help from the guests is required, which means that you for example carry your own luggage or help to set up the tents. Along the way it provides a wonderful sense of community.

Your first destination is the Deception Valley Private Reserve, which is located on the border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Here you will spend 2 nights and dive deep into the cultures of the San Bushman living here and learn a lot about nature and the animals, which are absolutely perfectly adapted to the desert conditions. Besides oryx antelopes, springboks and eland antelopes, with a bit of luck you may also get to see lions, hyenas and cheetahs.
Continue to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve where you will spend another two nights. The endless expanses of untouched desert nature, small and big wonders of nature, beautiful sunrises and clear nights revealing absolutely breathtaking starry skies await you. You will do some game drives to explore the region and get as many impressions as possible.
The third destination of this trip is the Boteti River on the edge of the Magkadikgadi National Park. Among other things, this region is famous for its very curious meerkat colony, which have already used one or the other tourist as a vantage point. Also through the Magkadikgadi National Park you will undertake game drives to get to know the flora and fauna of this unique national park.

Maun to Central Kalahari

Central Kalahari

The safari begins in Maun where your guide will meet you at 07h30 at your lodge. You will travel 160km to Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Upon arrival you will set up camp and have a safari briefing. You will explore the area for the next two days, enjoying game drives and nature walk led by our guide and share bush knowledge and unique local culture. Game drives will allow you to explore the area, home to oryx, springbok and some predators including lion, brown hyena and cheetah.

This is your last morning in the Kalahari, after breaking camp you will do a slow drive to the Makgadikgadi area. You will spend the night at a camp on oasis on the edge of the Makgadikgadi National Park, overlooking the Boteti River in Khumaga village. Enjoy an afternoon game drive into Makgadikgadi National Park.
